You said you had a 2.12 gpa. based on general math skills (which I assume you think none of us have) If you took 18 hours (which most Universities do not allow students on Academic Probation to take that many hours) & pulled all A's (HAHAHA...this made me just chuckle) you would then have about a 2.8.

DZsis&mom, thank you! THIS ^ is what I'm talking about. We need to stop with the watering down of our education system and letting anyone and everyone in. This is essentially the point I was making when I talked about challenging schools. Because I don't want to be offensive, I won't go into detail why I (and most people from my area) would think that it's pretty sad that the OP would be doing so poor at Bloomsburg.

I also wanted to add that AnotherKD knows what I'm talking about then--so, it doesn't need to be said. Thank you.

(This was all based on you having on 30 hours of credits...which would not make you a Jr. ) If you were a Jr., you can not pull up your GPA that fast against 60 hours. Liar Liar...Pants on Fire

I'm bored with this Child.

when did i say i had a 2.12??

yes of course i know that. i am also taking 4 or 5 courses over the summer.

If you are a junior who is just NOW getting a 3.0 at Bloomsburg then what will happen when you get into harder classes your senior year? What do you plan on doing when you graduate? I'll be honest and say that if you came through rush at my house and you "just" made a 3.0 as a junior in the 2nd semester of her junior year--you wouldn't get a second look. You may have a hard time with many of the national/ international sororities. Greek life takes up a lot of your time. Maybe you should just join a club or something.

actually im doing better that im in my major now and the classes have relevance to my future...i blew off classes that were gen ed (which was stupid, but i did) and im rushing 1st semester junior next year

I hope and pray you are not majoring in anything related to my field. And as AnchoraAlumna said...In before the lock (though I'm sure my banter with the OP will help get this locked).

just in general you all seem very bitter. why is that? i always strive to be an encouraging person. if i were in your situation...i would just think, go for it girl! keep focusing on your grades like you have been, and if being greek will make you happy then you should try it despite that you are a junior. you are all for some reason trying to bring me down!!!

SWTXBelle 02-22-2012 09:22 PM

Haiku time!

Oh, reality.

Sometimes, it is a bummer.

In before the lock.

Bitter? No. Realistic? Yes. Learn how to write and start getting better grades. I have a hard time telling you, "Go for it girl," when you aren't doing too hot and it's junior year. What are your goals for the future? What are you even majoring in? Please do NOT say Education.

SWTXBelle 02-22-2012 09:24 PM

Well, we know it isn't English . . .

Dude. You realize that the more classes you take, the less each one matters? Or am I talking to a wall? I mean, I can have a 4.0 semester, but if I have a really crummy first couple of years, it's not going to matter much.

THIS is why I roll my eyes at some people who are just outside of college and are complaining that they can't find work. When I ask what they did in college, they say that they skated by with a 2.5gpa and they majored in something completely irrelevant. No shit, you won't find a job. There are plenty of qualified and hardworking people that have problems finding jobs, and if you think that not getting into the house you want is your big conundrum coming up, you are seriously misled.

i have learned how to write and am actually a good writer..i have mentioned before that when i am online i type as if i would be texting. i certainly do have goals for the future and i am a business major. i don't feel my goals for the future and listing them out for you would in any way help solve my issue of how i could be successful in rush as a junior.

AnotherKD, I couldn't have said it any better myself! I added my own piece to what you said. Thank you for really putting it out there. More students need to think about this. I also wanted to tell SWTXBelle that she made me :) when she posted her comment. Yep, GC is the site that keeps giving back....lol

This = laziness. If you want people to care enough to respond to you with actual answers, care enough to write well.
