woohooo more bsg!

Thetagirl218 04-04-2008 12:07 AM

I can't wait for the premiere tomorrow! Given the fact I have been sick in bed this week and there is BSG marathon going on!

If anyone has a Tivo check out the special section at the bottom "What the frak is going on with BSG"! It is sooo funny! Hopefully I will be able to find it online soon and link it!

ditto...I am bizzy uploading season 3 dvd to my ipod.

Beryana 04-04-2008 05:28 AM

I've been watching all three seasons on my computer - as well as on Sci Fi. . . I'm rather looking forward to tonight's premier. You can find some subtle clues in the three seasons as to Chief, Tigh, Anders, and Tory - and to some extent they lack backstories!

srmom 04-04-2008 10:11 AM

My husband & I have been trying to rewatch season 3 before tonight's show. I'm behind him, so I am planning on watching today on the computer to catch up.

My son just started watching - we got him hooked by FORCING him to watch the original 2 episode premiere mini-series. He is now getting through season 2 and is making us Tevo all of season 4 so he can watch it after getting through 2 & 3.

It is such a good show, but we catch hell from our friends (who of course have never watched it) for being such fanatics.

such Draconian measures ...forcing your son to watch BSG and getting addicted....

I like it!

Beryana 04-04-2008 05:34 PM

So i just caught a commercial on Sci Fi and it appears that Apollo is being sworn in as President?!

phisigduchesscv 04-05-2008 01:03 AM

I'm tivoing it so I'll watch it tomorrow morning.

My brother and I were talking about BSG this evening. Here is something to make you go hmmmm.......Supposedly Hera is the only cylon/human hybrid right. And if I recall correctly she is the whole hope and future for the cylon race. Now we just found out that the Chief is one of the "5" - he and Callie have a son together. hmmmm.....wonder how this is going to play out

DaemonSeid 06-09-2008 06:13 AM

I will say it like this...

Friday's epi...

The Cylons had thier @ss handed to them and ar enow mortal

Baltar almost bit the big one and said something revealing

Someone else almost thinks they are a Cylon

srmom 06-09-2008 12:06 PM

Yes, I watched. This was a heavy ep with all of the soul searching for Laura. Almost like she had to "find" her humanity again. How intense for her to realize that she had to save Baltar. Also, I cried during the reunion between her and Adama.

And, 3 is quite a smart cylon. She sniffed out the double dealing right away. Interesting how the 8 who had downloaded Athena's feelings felt so betrayed by Helo.

Lots of great things are happening in this last season...

Previews for next week look awesome!

Yes and yes.

This episode was definitely good. Episode before this one (dealing with the aftermath on the ship, Col. Tigh impregnating Caprica Six (EWWWW), Adama being all in love with Laura, Lee becoming president) was probably the weakest episode of the season so far in my opinion. This was definitely back on the right track, and I'm really excited about the finale.

As far as the hybrid children go, we've got at least three now - Hera and Nicky (Callie/Chief's kid), and a potential Cylon-Cylon kid with the Tigh/Caprica fetus. I didn't think the latter was even possible! I don't like this major retcon of Cylons can't reproduce so late in the series. :(

Wonder what will happen with Nicky when everyone finds out he is a hybrid? Who will get to keep him? Or is it only Hera that's so important because she's a hybrid?

And what's the difference between the hybrid that powers Cylon ships and the human-cylon babies? I've never quite understood that.

Thetagirl218 06-14-2008 10:21 PM

What the #@#? No more BSG until 2009? This sucks!

srmom 06-17-2008 04:17 PM

This is a great article regarding the mid season finale "Revelations"

http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune....star-ga-1.html

Quote:

Finding Earth was never going to be their salvation. Their true salvation lies in discovering, through blood and toil and pain and sacrifice, “the better angels of [their] nature,” to quote Lincoln. Salvation lies in the love they can share with each other, despite what the universe throws at them.
I love this show. I can't believe we have to wait until 2009 to see the final 11 hours. AND, I am going to be so depressed when it is finally over.

Best show on television, beautifully acted, plotted and musically scored. I don't know when there will be this quality again.

Well, there's always the spinoff, Caprica, which last I heard has been green-lighted again. And I hear there may be another miniseries/made for TV movie in the fall. :)

srmom 06-18-2008 12:14 PM

I have heard of the Caprica show, I hope it has the same quality acting.

The thing that makes BG so good is the fine acting. Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnel are amazing. The rest of the cast is great too.

Also, the music score is wonderful and adds so much to the plotting and pace of the show.

I just hope Caprica doesn't turn out to be one of those embarrassing sequel type shows that never matches up to the original. That would be a shame.

Are the same writers/producers doing it?

Agreed about the acting.

Yes, Caprica will be produced by Moore and Eick. I assume some of the writing staff will be carrying over. It looks to be much the same as Battlestar, long story arcs.

Of the casting notices so far, I've got to say that Esai Morales is PERFECT for the role of Adama's dad (pics on IMDB).

Here are some links about Caprica. The first is to various posts by Televisionary (my fave television blog) on the show:

Anybody else watch the new episode?

Pretty Grim... But beautifully acted as always. I just don't know if I can stand the sorrow this season.

Quala67 01-19-2009 03:59 PM

I let out a GASP when Dualla encountered 'lead poisoning'! OMGs, part of me can't wait until next week and part of me dreads that each eppy is one more closer to the end...

Yea, I didn't really get that! I thought maybe she was possessed by the spirits on Earth (When she picked up the toys and locket) or maybe she was a Cylon. I wasn't expecting her to really die...

As for Starbuck, I had already figured that one out. My idea is maybe she was the person who caused the holocaust on Earth.

What I don't get is Helen....How is she??? She is dead!!!

srmom 01-20-2009 11:35 AM

Yeah, there's alot left to be explained! That's for sure.

I thought Dee killing herself was symbolic of the feelings of the entire fleet. How she told Gaeta that she just wanted that good feeling to last for a little while, then shot herself. All hope is lost for the members of the fleet. What they've been working for and hoping for all this time is dashed. Now what? Death might be better. Same feeling with the president - not taking her treatment. She is committing suicide as well. The burning of the "bible" also was symbolic of the anger and frustration of finding out that the prophecies were all for naught.

This season should be pretty intense.

I'm so glad that Obama finally pulled himself out of the malaise (and helped by Cylon Saul - great story arc) to rally the fleet.

The promos of the season - Civil War - geesh!! I sure hope there is resolution before they end the season.

You mean Adama. ;)

srmom 01-20-2009 05:54 PM

Haha!! Totally thinking about today!! Freudian slip!

Thetagirl218 02-11-2009 11:49 PM

Did anyone watch last Friday's episode....one of the best in nearly a season!!!

srmom 02-12-2009 12:52 PM

Of course! My husband & I never miss an episode ;) This season is living up to the amazingness that we hoped for! So sad it's the end!!

Thetagirl218 03-22-2009 11:18 AM

I thought it was the best way any show could go out...no loose ends...questions answered, stories closed.

I loved the way it ended with them coming to prehistoric earth and I thought that was really how the original series should have ended and it made all the sense in the world.

The 12 tribes, the pyramids and the pharoahs (think about the orginal servies viper helmets).

It was great.

Thetagirl218 03-22-2009 10:54 PM

I am still mad that they never tied up the loose ends on Daniel....My friend has a theory that he was Kara's father, and that is why he got boxed....

srmom 03-23-2009 11:30 AM

My husband and I loved it. I also am glad that things were tied up (except the Daniel thing which I had forgotten about). I would have hated to have loose ends.

Loved that Kara was an "angel" sent to lead them to earth. Loved that Caprica and Baltar walked into the horizon together. Cried at Laura's death and Adama sitting alone.

We are just sad now, knowing that there is no more to come!

I guess we'll just start working through the seasons again on DVD.

I herd that theory as well. I really liked the finale. It was really really sad. I liked how they landed on a prehistoric earth though.
