What on earth is a stock???? All I can think of is those things the Pilgrims put law-breakers in. I hope they are not those. :D

No, stocks are lace collars that graduates from all women's colleges that were founded before 1900 wore at graduation. They actually go around your neck. I have a feeling it has something to do with modesty and not showing your neck. Our nuns make ours.

I just wanted to say that I graduated from Mercer in Macon. I was so fortunate to be able to be in Macon where so much of our history is. During Diamond Days we always visit Wesleyan and one of our founder's graves. It is really very special.

Anyway, the point of the post. What I always heard when I was in school, was that Wesleyan did away with the sororities because they felt as though they were too divisive to their campus. As someone stated earlier, they do divide into classes and have class colors and mascots. I do not think that they are open to bringing sororities back. However, they are very supportive of our chapter at Mercer and are always willing to let us come to campus whenever we need.

I'm a Beta Sigma at Mercer U in Macon and I just wanted to let you know how awesome it is being an adpi here. I think every ADPi that has an opprotunity should visit!
