I just wanted to point out that the original "Just out of curiousity" thread was not meant to pit mods against non-mods...I just wondered if I was the only one concerned with the high volume of thread locking. Perhaps better explanations of why threads are closed would lessen some of the negative reactions that go along with thread locking.

And as always, lets at least try to play nice! ;)

I agree with this.

I don't think it's a huge deal -- I think it just sucks a little if we have a thread that is 3/4 interesting discussion and 1/4 "controversial" (or something like that) and then we lose out on the interesting discussion because the mods decide (or somebody else reports the thread because they don't like it) that it's not worth having the discussion if there are people getting upset.

And hmmm . . . now I have to come up with entirely new guesses as to who Timber is, if it's not a mod (I totally did not realize it was a joke). I think I have a few new guesses as to who it is though. :p

Hey Guys-

John and I discussed it and we believe this thread is valuable in providing all the GC mods feedback on how you all feel about duplicate threads, locking, editing, etc.

Personal attacks/Flames on specific moderators will not be tolerated in this thread. I know I appreciate your constuctive opinions, but prefer you let me know what you are thinking via PM. .

Some posts have been edited to remove flames and any posted info that was patently false--such as the debate as to whether I am also Timber.

I think that if threads are duplicated they should be merged if that is possible.

Amycat, I think that you are doing a very good job! Congrats on becoming a moderator. :)

I wish Moderators had the power to fix spelling errors. Seriously. Other than that, I think everyone is doing pretty well.
