I've bought a lot of old DG stuff off of ebay :) And some Vera too!

HotDamnImAPhiMu 02-11-2006 11:09 PM

I've bought Phi Mu stuff, and I always get pants from there - when I was working for peanuts, the only way I could afford my favorite pants was to get them for $20 or so off eBay (they run $70 or so at the store.)

I've bought quite a few things on ebay, and only got burned once, by stephmnelson, who also goes by bamfranger99. She was happy to take the money, but wouldn't send the goods. When I complained to ebay that she changed identities, I didn't get a satisfactory response.

My china pattern was discontinued literally the day after I bought the first few place settings, so I look for pieces there (I think I'm up to 10, but I need to do an inventory!).

I've also done my share of shopping for ADPi items - one special bargain was a dozen ADPi hats for $4 plus s/h. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them, but then our latest colony was asking for ADPi items, so I knew exactly why I won that auction! :)

What's your china pattern?

It's nothing like the ones I'll inherit - they're very formal.

HotDamnImAPhiMu 02-11-2006 11:53 PM

Formal is nice, but I bet it's great to have china you can use more frequently.

I would ask "dirty or clean?" but I know it's an eBay TOS they have to be clean.

Did you bid on Britney's chewing gum last year?

-- I have "Live From Las Vegas!" on my Netflix cue!

This is just too easy

honeychile 02-12-2006 12:00 AM

Hey, I have a grilled cheese sandwich that looks like The Last Supper! Want to cut out the ebay fees, and just buy it from me for the low price of $28,900?

Do they have to be clean? I know someone sells panties from gc on ebay but i don't know what they are like.

Anyway, no I didn't bid on chewing gum but if I had won it I would never stop chewing it.

They can't be publicized as anything but clean. But I guess since there's no eBay police, there's nothing to stop me having an underground ring of dirty-panty-selling girls.

(I think there was a thread on this once: some girl selling "used sorority girl panties!!!!!! worn 2 a frat party!!!!!")

But I guess it'd have to be one of those things where I SAY they're clean, but everybody knows they're not, and everybody in the know knows where to go.

That is, until I accidentally sell to someone who really wanted clean panties and they turn me in to the eBay police. :(

Hello, my name is Rachel, and I'm an eBay addict. :D

I have gotten lots of Vera things, a bunch of books, a couple APO pins, an APO keychain, some vintage teen magazines, Seinfeld DVDs, IU yearbooks...I think that's it. :)

I can't believe I'm on GC this late on a Saturday. Yes, this is my second night of the weekend not out with my friends because I'm a pre-med lame-o.

Back on the topic, I've never bought anything from E-bay, because I'm entirely too gullible and I know that I would waste money on a knock-off. I have, however, sold quite a few things through the "I Sold It on Ebay" store in town. I love that place!!! It really is the best way to get rid of old stuff that you would ordinarily toss out. Recently, I sold off my collection of Breyer horses from when I was younger, which was in boxes in the attic.
