TriDeltaGal 03-17-2002 09:43 PM

UCLA Bruins beat Cincinnati, the no.1 ranked team in the West Conference in double overtime 104-101 and came back from being down eleven points!
WE ARE GOING TO THE SWEET SIXTEEN!

:D GO BRUINS! UCLA #1:D

I was watching the game with some of my Alpha Phi friends and we kept screaming at the T.V. It was a great comeback, especially since everyone doubted they could beat Cininnati.

Our blood runs blue and gold here in Westwood!

KSigkid 03-17-2002 09:53 PM

Well, the Bearcats had their customary choke job. They just never do well in the tournament - granted, UCLA has some players, but there's no excuse for Cincinnati going out when they did.

That said...I'm pumped UConn is in the Sweet 16, but I'm concerned how tight it's been. Ben Gordon has played horribly, he has to start stepping up. Luckily Caron Butler has been unreal - he had 34 today. God I hope he sticks around for another year.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk GO KU!!!!!!!

The Jayhawks will take it all this year. The Big 12 is rockin', way to go Missouri (which I hate), Texas (which yes, I live there, but never want them to win), and Oklahoma (did sort of get screwed...but oh well). They're looking awesome in the Sweet 16 and could round out the tournament. Great job!!!!

Go KU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KarenC725 03-18-2002 12:28 PM

As long as my Terps are still in it, that's all I care. Kinda upset that Cincy is out but oh well. Since I was on vacation I didn't get to join any pools this year. Bummed but with Gonzaga and Florida losing, maybe its for the best...

UofISigKap 03-18-2002 05:48 PM

Well, I have already lost the pool that I was in. My picks were horrible! However, my Fighting Illini are still in it...and Southern Illinois? Who knew!?! Watch out KU; this upcoming game is going to be a good one. I'll be glued to the TV. :)

xo_sue 03-19-2002 01:51 PM

Since I'm from Danville, my heart is torn between Southern Ill. & UCONN this Friday!!! It will be a great game though!

Butler is leaving - all he can talk about is "leaving his legacy" but hopefully he'll have another great game and get us to the elite 8!

My brackets stunk! I had Gonzaga & Cincinnati going far. Oh well!

Thrillhouse 03-22-2002 01:35 AM

I had Kent St and Missouri going to the elite 8 before the tourney started. Talk about being good, lol. Duke losing won't hurt much since nearly everyone picked them.

IowaHawkeye 03-22-2002 02:13 AM

Duke... wow thats all i can say about that one... I had Duke and Maryland in the championship with Maryland winning it all... Williams choked on that free throw - i thought he was going to be the miracle man when he hit that three but damn, missing the free throw, that hurt...

phisigQT 03-22-2002 09:39 AM

well DUKE is out!!!! :)
and MARYLAND is still in!!! FEAR THE TURTLE!!!!!!!!!!! :D
