excuse me for intruding because i know this was directed to members of omega psi phi and delta sigma theta, but, i have been reading the posts and i see the word "gnawing" come up a lot. i know what the term means, which worries me. have some of you ladies of delta sigma theta had men of omega psi phi chew on you? if so, is there a hidden and secretive meaning? or, is it just colorful language (which i'm hoping it is)?

I feel you, frat. And, anyone who posts regularly on GC knows that I simply ADORE the bruhs. BUT-- unfortunately, not ALL of the Ques keep it real. Since you broke it down about my sorors, I just have to say my piece. I have known so many Ques who act COMPLETELY out of character when they're wearing their P&G 'nalia or at a greek function. As we've said before, some people try to live up to the stereotypes of their orgs, and SOME Ques are no different. It's like they become totally different people when they are around bruhs and in the Omega limelight, and they say/do things they'd NEVER do under any other circumstances. I've seen it happen way too much with people in all the orgs, including Delta.

The moral of my story? For the most part, YES-- the bruhs, in general, do keep it real. But again, we all have some bad apples in our families.

I just decided to see what was going on da bruh's board.
I know I'm late, but here's my take:
You don't need a constitution to have a bond. Of course, the bond only goes but so far, though. A soror should not hyperventilate when she sees a bruh and vice versa. A soror CERTAINLY should not show a bruh more enthusiasm and love than she shows her own--that happens a lot.
But, since DST and OPP are the largest sorority and fraternity...of course, there will be members of the Coleman fam who do not know how to act. I do not hold one bruh's actions against the whole...and I do not expect to be mistreated by bruhs if I show them love: not having the other side of the Coleman fam on the yard or having bad experiences with some particular chapter, etc. is no excuse.
My experiences have been particularly good...not always...but, I know when to dismiss the ignorant.
So, when I go to different yards or if I'm out and about...and I show love, I expect it in return. I may not receive it, but sometimes I do not receive it from other Deltas. It's unfortunately the name of the game. The way we do things in VA is also different than the way things are done other places.

Yeah, ya'll are A'IGHT, bruh...don't get highstrung, though. Not every bruh keeps it as real as you claim ya'll do.
I know there are some Deltas out there who hang with Kappas, etc. That's cool, b/c as black people we shouldn't discriminate. But, in terms of bonds we don't have one with Alphas, etc....that's my opinion (I'm right http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif).
I would expect a bruh to help me out if I was in a predicament. I can count on some bruhs to do so. I always keep in mind, though...that there are some bruhs that I wouldn't count on spitting on me if I were on fire. That's life.
I don't think you need to tell us that there are times when Deltas don't speak to eachother. Simply because there are times when bruhs don't speak to eachother. I see exactly what you're saying, but it's all about where you're from. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same view of how we are to treat members of our own organization. That's the truth.

Hey, I hope you all do not chastise me for posting, but I go where the party is.
On a light note, I too have been knawed on by a member of Omega Psi Phi! Bottom line, men who knaw on women do not discriminate because of greek letters. They knaw on women because they like knawing on women. I really don't think it is personal.

We as women have to demand respect from every man regardless of the organization. Still, any bad experiences that I have with my beloved frat brothers does not and can not sour the entire connection I have with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. To several posters, it is bigger than a constitution "thang." The bond was sealed long before it was confessed for world view on paper.
Finally, I connect with every 'bruh' because we share a history and the black experience. I expect an Omega man to help me on the streets just as I would a man of Sigma.
I also expect to give and receive common greetings in passing also. We are all brothers and sisters in end as we were from the beginning.
