Korkscru, to answer your first question, I'd rather be a murderer than a molestor. It sad to say but our society is so violent as it is one would be more likely to be forgiven for such a crime. Now molestation is something different. As you've stated it's considered taboo to do such a thing. I wouldn't dream of doing either regardless but if I had to choose it would be murder.
As far as who set R. Kelly up, I don't know. It very well could be one of his friends. If it was one of his friends how did they find the tapes. I would hope that he wouldn't brag about such a thing to his friends but hey, you never know. As we continue to discuss the matter, I feel more and more sorry for R. Kelly. I'm not condoning his actions by any means. but he's being judge by his peers, his fans, and the courts when the only judge should be our Creator. God help him, is all I can say. |
Well guys and gals, I just saw the tape of R. Kelly for the first time. All I can say is that my head REALLY hurts and I just can't believe what I saw. I don't usually watch such kinds of tapes, but I guess that my curiosity got the best of me this time. IT'S HIM!!! IT'S HIM!!! IT IS DEFINITELY HIM!!!

The order for him to stay away from kids not related to him was only valid in FLA, not IL. So he wasn't in violation.
Those kids are too young for him anyway. oops!! Did I just type that...? :D |
Well Ladies, I read an article that talked about Rev. Meeks' involvement. According to this article, the reporter talked to the Rev. durng a telephone interview and he's saying that he saw no problem with R. Kelly singing to those kids. I BEG TO DIFFER!!! He should be focusing on his defense instead of perpetrating at some church function. But to each his own...I guess, right?
But get this. I read ANOTHER article written by the SAME reporter and he said that R. Kelly did/does not treat his immediate family very well (this INCLUDED his mother). According to the article, long after R. Kelly became a millionaire, his mother was STILL driving a hooptie which she had to HOT WIRE in order to start. The reporter also said that one of R. Kelly's brothers said that he (the brother) has NEVER visited R. Kelly's home (you know, the one where the videos were taped---by the way, he SOLD that home for a reported 2 point something million shortly after the video came out). But this final thing was like the CLINCHER for me. How about the reporter wrote that R. Kelly's sister was R. Kelly's HOUSEKEEPER for a while and he paid her a WHOOPING...get this $400.00 per week. Now what in the WORLD was this NEGRO thinking? I tell yall, I'm like TOO THROUGH with R. Kelly right about now, okay? |
R. Kelly's Latest Song News
A week before his arraignment, R. Kelly has already entered a plea, an emotional plea for the support of his fans.
His latest song, "Heaven, I Need a Hug," finds the R&B singer currently facing 21 counts of child pornography-related charges (see "R. Kelly Free On Bail As Detailed Charges Emerge") reaching out to his hometown of Chicago, where the song debuted Tuesday night on WGCI-FM. "Heaven, I Need a Hug" is the only legit track from the Loveland sessions to be released, as the rest have since been scrapped because of bootlegging (see "Kelly Vows To Clamp Down As New Bootleg Hits Streets"). The song was written in response to the current scandal, according to WGCI Program Director Elroy Smith, who said he met with Kelly and waited until he got permission from Kelly's label before airing the track. In the mid-tempo ballad, Kelly accuses his detractors of rushing to judgement, criticizes women for dependence on men, asks the media to give him a break, and begs for a little human tenderness ("Heaven, I need a hug/ Would anyone out there like to hug a thug?" goes the chorus). Kelly sings, "I gave 13 years of my life to this industry/ Hit song or not, I've given all of me/ You smile in my face and tell me you love me/ But then before you know the truth you're so quick to judge me." Kelly goes on to blame his current troubles on his celebrity, a belief he also put forth in his May interview with MTV News (see "R . Kelly: In His Own Words"). He sings, "It's all because I'm famous/ You know what I'm sayin'/ I mean if I wasn't famous/ Then all this wouldn't be happening/ I'm just being real." So far the song has been getting a good reaction in Chicago. WGCI reports that within 90 minutes of adding the song to the playlist Tuesday evening, "Heaven, I Need a Hug" became one of the station's most requested songs. Rival Chicago station WBBM-FM has banned Kelly's music because of the charges against him. WGCI, which has been supportive of Kelly's career since his days in Public Announcement and was the focal point of a community protest (see "Kelly Settles Civil Suit, Defends Himself On Radio"), takes the position that the station won't condemn the singer unless the courts do, Smith said. However, WGCI has stopped playing some of Kelly's more innuendo-laden songs, such as "Feelin' on Yo Booty." |
I heard the song yesterday and I can't lie it had me in deep thought and I was about to shed some tears. I guess you have to realize through all of the wrong and right he is still human and has human feelings. The song definitely made me feel sorry for him.

Do not get caught up...

:o I do not think I can feel sorry for him. |
Well, I don't feel sorry for him about this particular situation, especially after seeing the video for myself. He can make as many teary-eyed-feel-sorry-for-me-I'm-only-human-it's-only-because-I'm-rich-and-famous-I-grew-up-in-the-church type of songs that he wants. Nothing, I mean NOTHING, is going to change the fact that he had sex and did sexual things with a lot of young girls. NOTHING can change the fact that the video is out. I think that the only thing that R. Kelly is really seeing is the fact that he was BETRAYED (by Aliyah's uncle, Sparkle, or whoever) and that he GOT CAUGHT. Now, I do understand his need for COMPASSION, but not SYMPATHY. I'm not saying that he won't make some changes in his life because of what's happened. And I'm not saying that he won't turn out to be a better man because of this. All I'm saying is that he needs to stop blaming everyone else, accept responsibility for this mess that he's gotten himself into, deal with his punishment like a man, be a good example to others, LEAVE THEM YOUNG GIRLS ALONE, and go on with his life.
There it is...PLAIN AND SIMPLE!! |
Thank you, Korkscru, thank you.
|
As a Chicago person, I am actually INSULTED by the song. And the fact that WGCI is playing it so much. HOW DARE he say in the sonfg...women stop depending on men when you very openly handed this young CHILD money before you began to degrade her little underdeveloped body!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that a lot of people are capitaliyzing and PROFITING off of his demise. And he is still to blind to realize it. Most of the major stations in the area stopped playing his music. WGCI was getting major competition from a new station in the area. THIER RATINGS are probably off the chain now that they have premiered the "exclusive" R Kelly song. First you need to understand the Demographics of the station and the time slot that they played the song in. WGCI and the "Bad Boy" show's audience primarily consists of the age range of roughly12-25 and that is not an exageration. KIDS! I am not asaying that he should be abandoned but STOP BLAMING everyone else. Stop coming out with these big sympathy songs with these long run-on sentences about what you feel. WAKE UP! Honestly, the media did not have sex with a minor, your brothers and sister did not make you urinate on her, your "crew" did not adjust the video camera before the encounter, the industry did not have that little girl walking around dancing and urinating on the floor for your pleasure. REALLY! How long will we tolerate deviant behavior and pass it off as entertainment???????????? (Queer as Folk UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) WAKE UP PEOPLE! |
Children are just that ....CHILDREN! What was he thinking as an ADULT? I think it is just sick that he could be capable of doing such things to an a minor and not feel bad of taking away that child's innocent. I hope he goes to jail for what he did.
Now on a different note some girls do lie about their age just to get with an older man but I know that this is not the case here! |
1. Rev. Meeks is probably a good man, but it just LOOKS bad to be all up in the media trying to excuse R. Kelly.
2. Reports on the radio say that this tape has been circling around the music community for a LONG TIME. As in most of them had seen it! It only got sent in because he messed with the wrong one. All those hypocritical artists backing away from Kelly NOW make me sick, especially because I am sure many of them do the same stuff, and just don't get caught. 3. Do you know what they do to child molesters in jail? Believe me, NO ONE wants to be known as a molester. Even murderers feel justified in looking down on them..... |
I have yet to hear the song but I've heard many people say that it was a good song.
As far as R. Kelly blaming others for his own wrong doings, I disagree. However, I do believe that the media has helped in perpetuating the situation with interviews and constant media coverage. "R. Kelly was singing to some kids, R. Kelly is in Florida." Quite frankly I don't think its any of our business. This has allowed us as human beings to pass judgement on someone when we don't have a heaven or hell to put them in. Yes are R. Kelly is a freak and he's had sex with minors. I've said it before, I really don't believe these girls were forced to do anything they didn't want to do. Yes he's the "Adult" but we all make mistakes. Everybody's so concerned with R. Kelly that they don't recognize the wrong doings of those hot a$$ girls or their parents for not teaching them to stay away from men almost twice their age. R. Kelly is going to get his, whether it be from our legal system or St. Peter when he reaches the heavenly gates. He doesn't need all the extra B.S. Although I haven't heard the song, I surmise from previous post that his point was just that. He doesn't need all the extra B.S. |
What?????
|
Quote:
i first heard the song about 10 minutes ago. i personally didn't get any inspiration out of it. instead, it's almost as if he's taking thinly veiled "shots" at others, i.e. the media and others(w/out mentioning specific names). |
Quote:
Now as far as these young girls go...yeah, we all know that there are PLENTY of young, eager, over-developed, "fast" young girls out there who would READILY sleep with men who are rich, famous, and/or much older than them. THAT'S a given. But...let's put it like this...does that EXCUSE his behavior. You're d*mn right...HE is the ADULT. Where was his MORAL CONVICTION? It's not like R. Kelly DIDN'T KNOW that he was doing wrong. This man KNEW. It's the same for anyone who robs a bank... when they do it, they ALREADY know that it's wrong. And when they get caught, WHO can they blame except THEMSELVES? Yes, I agree that WE ALL make mistakes. But just because we REALIZE that our mistakes are mistakes does not mean that we won't be held accountable or punished for them. Remember I said in a previous post that I understand his need for COMPASSION, but not SYMPATHY. He's not retarded. He's not from another country. He's not stupid. And, get this, he wasn't ignorant to the facts. HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. And I'll say it again...I think that R. Kelly is upset with the fact that he was BETRAYED and that he GOT CAUGHT. Now if there was NO video, then he probably wouldn't have written this "feel-sorry-for-me" song that he now has out. Heck, if there was NO video, then I probably would be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. But let's face it. Let's call a spade a spade. There IS a video (with R. KELLY DEFINITELY on it). HE was the dummy to RECORD his "play sessions" with these girls. He can't blame his boys, the media, the fact that he's rich and famous, Sparkle, Aliyah's uncle, the African-American community, the "White" man, or ANYONE else for THAT. HE DID THAT. And you're right. He may NOT need the extra B.S.. But that came along with the territory. He shouldn't have messed with, let alone TAPE himself with, those young girls. On top of that he continues to LIE about it when he KNOWS that almost the whole WORLD knows that it IS him on that tape. COME ON NOW CANDYGIRL!!! Let's see this situation for what it REALLY and TRULY IS!!!!! What R. Kelly has done is VERY, VERY SERIOUS!!! Let's stop making excuses for him, forgive him, and go on. |
Again, thank you Korkscru. The ultimate responsibilty belongs to the adult men, and in this case, it was R Kelly. "Fastness" just does not cut it as an excuse.
|
You all make it seem like I'm justifying the man's actions. I understand that this a very serious matter and R. Kelly is definitely a guilty party. I'm by know means making excuses. I have forgiven him and there no way to move on because we have constant media coverage of his demise.
|
I agree with you, Candygirl about the barrage of news, but I think the publicity is deserved. I think the issue is not so much forgiveness, as much as responsibilty. Much as we want to forgive, we have an accused felon, who, in the face of pretty damning evidence, continues to stutter about his innocence. A family man who seemingly destroys girls he is old enough to father. As I have said before, our women have enough to be worried about without being molested by our own. Thus, I guess that is why there are people less willingly to be so quick with forgiveness. We are yet to see a sincerity on his part. What can you say about his stunt with the kindergarten kids? Now, that performance, goaded on by Pastor Meeks, was self-serving and aimed at publicity.
He single-handedly built this edifice to his own shame, and thus has to live with it. In some ways, us forgiving him or not is pointless. What I refuse to believe is that he was the victim, and sometimes, I have heard our women imply that. That is not fair to our children. If we made allowances for every man who has been "approached" by a "fast" child, we'd have serious problems with figuring out who is leading who in this society. |
R. kelly's New Song
Instead of singing "Heaven I Need a Hug", he NEEDS to be singing, "I need JESUS!"
|
Quote:
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't heard one iota of support for the young girls that were misused. They need a hug! They need support. They need a voice. Outside of one columnist who writes for the SunTimes no one is standing up to support them. Radio stations need to let them know that what happened to them was abuse. Plan and simple. |
It is sickening, and disgraceful.

Can you believe this isht!!!!! 2 months jail time? Unbelievable!
June 20, 2002 Release No. 038 Kelly Admits His Guilty but Still Wages on CHICAGO, IL World Famous R&B singer Robert Kelly, known to the world as "R.Kelly" has confessed as being the man on the infamous videotape performing sexual acts on a minor. In a eleventh hour confession, R. Kelly confessed his guilt of statutory rape on a female that was believe to be under the age of legal consent within the state of Illinois. "I'm man enough and strong enough to say I did it and I'm not scare whether society accepts me or hurls me into purgatory," said Kelly. Kelly's lawyers are in negotiations with Cook County prosecutors to cut a no contest plea deal that would register Kelly as a sex offender in the State of Illinois, an unprecedented $500,000 fine, 2 months jail time, and 5 years probation. Also, Kelly would have to release an album for the City of Chicago. Cook County prosecutors would not comment on a deal or negotiations. Kelly said the infamous sex tape was "something personal" that "got into the wrong hands." "I mean, everyone has their own personal flick tape." Kelly is vehement that this will not stop him or his career. "I did what I did. Who can judge whether I'm right or wrong. This will not stop me from expressing myself through song or within my life. People have always judged me. I don't give a f*ck. R. will always be R These are the demons I have to face, but I will not let the world ruin my name because I like to get 'freaky.' " The release of the City of Chicago album is not known at this time. Kelly's current recording label, Jive, Department of Public Relations released this statement saying, "We're willing to work with Robert and the city of Chicago at all costs to get this whole ordeal settled, as long as we get our cut." |
Well, well, well...his lawyers FINALLY gave him some GOOD advice. I'm also in awe of this 2 months jail time, $500,000.00, 5-year probation thing. Now, I'm all for him being placed on Illinois' central registry for sex offenders. But look y'all, he's ALREADY talking junk. What does he mean when he says that he's not "...scared if society accepts him or hurls (him) into purgatory"? What is he trying to prove when he says "People have always judged me. I don't give a f*ck. R. will always be R."? What's up with the attitude R. Kelly? Don't get mad at society because you got caught in your mess. Don't get mad because you had to go back and RECANT all of the LIES that you've told. NOW he's saying that he's "only a man" and he "won't let the world ruin (his) name because (he) likes to get "freaky".  So what was the purpose for this LAST-MINUTE-FEEL-SORRY-FOR-ME-BECAUSE-THAT'S-NOT-ME-ON-THAT-TAPE-PEOPLE-ARE-TRYING-TO-RUIN-ME-I'M-INNOCENT song? This is NOT about anyone trying to RUIN him or even about him getting "FREAKY". This is about a 30-something year-old man who likes to VIDEO TAPE himself having sex with MINORS!!!!!!! WAKE UP, R. KELLY!!!! WAKE UP!!!! I just can't STAND his arrogant, narcissistic attitude. What makes me upset with him is that he shows NO type of remorse or shame. He has YET to show ANY humility or conviction. NONE whatsoever. Even after CONFESSING, he CONTINUES to blame OTHERS. I just can't see myself supporting ANYTHING that he does from now on. I'm willing to bet that if this "slap-on-the-wrist" deal goes through, ole' Rev. Meeks can forget about seeing R. for a while.

if this article is legit and that deal has been made, this is serious injustice. not only should the jail time be the maximum allowed, it doesn't mention anything about mandatory counseling. hello.... he needs help. his "desires" aren't just going to fall by the wayside. paying half a mil fine is a drop in the bucket to him. |

R. Kelly Pleads Innocent in Porn Case Wed Jun 26,11:44 AM ET By MELANIE COFFEE, Associated Press Writer CHICAGO (AP) - R&B star R. Kelly, accused of videotaping sex acts with a 13-year-old girl, pleaded innocent to 21 counts of child pornography on Wednesday. Kelly, whose first name is Robert, made no statement at his arraignment. "I can't talk right now," he told The Associated Press while on his way out of the courtroom. But he smiled and waved to fans who lined the corridor of the Cook County Courthouse, many of whom wore T-shirts reading "R. Kelly We Luv You." One of his attorneys, Sam Adam, told reporters the Grammy-winning singer is innocent. "I haven't seen the tape but I know the FBI ( news - web sites) has been wrong 100 times in the last year," Adam said. Kelly, 35, who has been dogged by allegations of sexual misconduct in civil lawsuits, was indicted by a Cook County grand jury June 5. Cook County State's Attorney Richard Devine has said the video was made in November 1997 or later and that the girl was born in September 1984. If convicted, Kelly, who lives in the Chicago suburb Olympia Fields, could be sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined $100,000. The singer has denied he is the man on the tape, while defense attorney Edward Genson has said that the woman on the tape was not younger than 18 at the time the video was made. According to a law enforcement source, the parents of the girl claim it's not their daughter in the video. Kelly's arrest followed an investigation in which about 50 witnesses were interviewed before determining the tape showed Kelly and an underage girl, according to Chicago police and Cook County prosecutors. FBI forensics experts analyzed the tape and concluded it was authentic, they said. Kelly has been sued at least four times; three of the lawsuits involved allegations of underage sex. He has acknowledged settling two of those lawsuits, but his lawyers have said they will fight the third. The fourth was filed by a woman who claims he taped their sexual encounters without her knowledge. The singer is known for hits ranging from the Grammy-winning inspirational anthem "I Believe I Can Fly" to sexually charged songs such as "Bump 'n' Grind," "Feelin' on Yo Booty" and "Your Body's Callin.'" A week ago, R. Kelly released a new song to Chicago radio station WGCI-FM. In the song, "Heaven, I Need A Hug," he knocks his detractors and says he hopes to regain his fans' support. |
OMIGOSH....I'm soooooooooo sorry. I posted this as a JOKE. IT'S COMPLETELY FICTIONAL. I ended up leaving the office and didn't log back on until today. I meant to post an additional note saying it was just a joke. I should have put some smiles at the end. Sorry for those of you who believed it. It's an email circulating around Chicago as a joke.

4 More Tapes Found

I just don't know WHAT to say anymore. I guess that LAWD HAVE MERCY would be enough, right Soror CT4? If these new tapes reveal anything, then I'm wondering who R. Kelly is going to blame THIS time? I DO know ONE thing though. He's going to have a h*ll of a time EXPLAINING all of this mess (especially if the new tapes reveal anything) to a JURY. Hey, if I were R. Kelly, at THIS point, I would tell my lawyers that I want to take a plea bargain. What do you guys think?

R. KELLY'S CAMP ISSUES RESPONSES TO HIS ARREST: When read closely, statements might not help.
R. Kelly booking shot from his 01-22-03 arrest in Florida (Jan. 23, 2003) *We all know about R. Kelly's arrest yesterday in the Miami area on charges of child pornography. As we know, the singer is already in trouble for such a charge in Illinois. Kelly was detained after investigators allegedly found 12 photographs of a nude girl. Bond was set at $12,000. Immediately Kelly's camp responded with a statement. "At this point, it looks to us like a classic case of piling on, in which a local jurisdiction tries to make headlines by attaching itself to a celebrity case. As far as we can tell, the charges all relate to R. Kelly's arrest last summer. In other words, there is nothing new here." But Kelly's folks weren't through "attacking." Later in the day they issued another statement. "The more we learn about these new charges against R. Kelly, the fishier it all seems. For one thing, the pictures he is charged with possessing were not found in his personal possession or even in his house but in a recording studio some eight months ago. For another, they involve no new alleged misconduct but precisely the same allegations Kelly is fighting in Chicago. We can't help but wonder what has motivated the Polk County authorities to file charges that are essentially a rehash of a case being adjudicated in another jurisdiction. With Kelly's career on the upswing again, is it possible that they're more interested in publicity than in justice?" Hey R., you might want to read over your releases before your peeps send them out. Especially the second one. |
The prosecutor has asked for another extension in presenting its' case against R Kelly. They stated they needed to continue to have photos analyzed. The judge said he will grant one more 1 month extension. If the prosecution isn't ready by then the case could be ruled a mistrial and the R go free.

R. Kelly Compares Himself to Osama Bin Laden
R. Kelly Compares Himself to Bin Laden
Sat Sep 13, 9:11 AM ET NEW YORK - R. Kelly, who gained fame with songs such as "I Believe I Can Fly," now compares himself to Osama bin Laden (news - web sites). The R&B singer was indicted last year on child pornography charges after a videotape purportedly showed him having sex with an underage girl. Kelly, who's free on bond, has denied the charges. "People can say whatever they want about you without knowing the facts," Kelly tells Blender magazine in its October issue. "They can criticize you without even knowing you, and hate you when they don't even know you. All of a sudden, you're, like, the bin Laden of America. Osama bin Laden is the only one who knows exactly what I'm going through." But he's kept himself busy in the recording studio for the past six months, and says song ideas come to him in the kitchen, on the basketball court, everywhere. "I love music, and music loves me back. We're kind of married, and I'm pregnant by music," the 36-year-old says. "I have three to four years' worth of work you've never heard in the vaults. I've come up with at least 20 to 25 albums." |
