Was this post even necessary? So what if he's gay? I mean really what does that have to do with anything? Not putting words in any member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc mouth but i'm sure they all love him just the same! A brother is a brother! Maybe i'm putting too much into this but I just think that there are more important things in life to inquire about other than someone's sexual orientation. Such as what kind of person is this human being? What has he done for his community, etc. Putting my two cents in I honestly don't feel that coming in here asking these men how they feel about their "gay" frat brother was neither appropriate or necessary. What does it matter?

I agree with most of the others what does it matter if he's gay?

Perhaps I am in error......I thought this was a place where I can speak candidly about issues. I think the topic of homosexuality is a quite valid one.....If I OFFENDED YOU..I do apologize....for that was not at all my intentions. I am hurting over the pain of a dear friend and I just wanted some answers. I believe this issue just hit to close to home for some people......for it to be an unnecessary topic.......It is on fire!
Peace Lovely Black People.....I was in no way trying to offend. Deja |

I didn't find your topic offensive at all. And I agree that homosexuality is definitely a valid topic/issue. The reality is that gays/lesbians/bisexuals are everywhere http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif and deserve respect just like everyone else and people need to begin to deal with that in a mature, honest and intelligent fashion. Also, I am sorry to hear about your friend. Peace, Love and Progression, BN [This message has been edited by BrandNubian (edited March 16, 2001).] |
Well I'll make my comment short and sweet. First of all, I love E.Lynn Harris, he is my favorite author and I have and read all of his books. Second, someone asked how would you feel about a gay/lesbian soror-I wouldn't care. As long as she doesn't try to be more than my soror, (if you know what I meean) then it's cool). But then again I think that women are just more comfortable or accepting of the whole lebian/gay thing. I personally don't get down with that whole thing because it just isn't right-that's how I was raised.

Had she said "Women are completely comfortable or accepting, then yes, her second statement would be a contradiction. |
For clarification purposes: I would never feel attracted to women because I am Christian and that is how I was raised. However, the Bible also teaches us not to judge. Also, I was saying that more women than men are excepting of the whole gay/lesbian thing. You ask a brother if he's gay or anyhting of the sort and they feel as if their manhood is being challenged. You ask a woman if she is a lesbian and she'll probably reply, "no."

This is a touchy subject for me!! I love to read and I have hard time reading his books. I have not purchased one yet!! What book does he have out that doesn't illustrate a gay lifestlye?
