Then she turned around and got a $20,000 bonus. Only debts she has are her mortgages. So I told her take the money and pay off one of her mortgages. She told me ain't I got to fixed up the house. So what did she do she bought a used van, a new refrig, wall-to-wall carpet, a laptop, and fixed the bathroom floor.

Then one day she called me from work that her money is almost gone. I was like I don't see $20,000 worth of stuff in the house She thought she hunged the phone up, but I could here her talking.

Just a thought:
Wall to Wall carpeting alone is expensive. Its not difficult to spend 10, 20, 30 thousand depending on the quality of carpet and the size of the room. I mean I had no clue how much carpeting cost until recently. The padding underneath is expensive as all heck too.

I really don't know if this is bad karma. Some people are just bad with money. The minute they have some, they spend it. Saving a percentage of your salary (or trustfund) is very important. $20,000 is a lot of money, but home renovations are expensive.

Let's see. You lost your car, so that must mean....

i am with you on that one. *spoiled moment ahead* my dad is great. he said that as long as i am in college, he will pay for my car and insurance. well, it is my fourth year in college and i am on car #3. i work a lot and still have a few bills to pay on my own. but my dad says that he will give me extra money if i need it.*spoiled moment over*

Similar with me. My folks say I allowed to stay home until I graduate from college and get a real job. And my newer car and insurance was paid off on the spot by my grandpa. He's got the cheddar.

There should be no shame in living a privledged or semi-privledged life or if you lived that way in the past. I went to working class high school and the folks at my previous church was poor as dirt. I saw some of what they had to go through. I am very thankful and appreciative of my well off grandparents who partially raised me.

My "responsible" peers I attended highschool and previous church with are no further in life than I am. Matter of fact about 1/4 of them have kids now.

Luckily I have not had it as bad as some of you.

The only thing I pay is gas money, and part of my car payment, and of course anything I want for myself.

My parents pay for more than half of my car payment, my insurance, my cell phone and always help me out when I need money.

When I graduate in May I will be paying my own bills. I am actually looking foward to it because it will make me more responsible, and I think I am good with money (well i'd hope so since I am an economics major right? ;) )

I only work two days a week since they are not open on the weekends, and with the money I get paid an hour, I really can't afford to pay for much else.

I know it sounds silly- but I am looking foward to working a full time job and paying my own bills. I want my parents to get their money back and not have to help me out even though I know they don't mind.

I was paying the car note on her car and driving it. She said she would handle the car note because she was getting that big lump sum. But instead, she gave the lawyers the impression she was paying the car note for 3 years.

Wall to wall carpeting is expensive, but she has three mortgages on her house. Damn she was watching the Suze Orman Show (my recommendation) on how to handle your money. Suze always says pay off your debts first.

She could have used some of that money to pay off one of her mortgages. Now she is crying about how expensive her billls. The house looks good, but her financial situation is the same as it was last year.
