and gretzky didn't 'not get hit' because he wasn't a target - watch some old footage, and he just flows through traffic, spins away from hits, etc. His head was up but it was like he had frigging radar, he avoided hits that well.

You're right though - hard to compare eras, same quandry in baseball and every other sport.

yup, still arguably the best - just not in my mind. But stepping aside from this little deviation in thread, wayne was the more complete person than jordan. He never had to resort to taunting to be successful.

i take it you never played a sport in your life?

jordan played with alot of emotion, and i dont consider that taunting. you cant help what happens when your adrenalin kicks in

hahaha, wayne never resorted to slurring insults or dirty kickers like he could of, e.g. bobby clarke....he had class on the ice during the most intense rushes. And, obviously since you don't know anything about hockey - the sport moves in a very similar pace and style to basketball.

ETA: if you read any of the hockey threads by now you would have enough sense not to argue with me on this subject :)

i played hockey competively for 10 years in net...i'm not gonna listen to some guy from a place that's maybe been playing the sport for 10 years. I'm sure as hell you can't fucking skate, no one from the south can.

Who let you in on this debate, anyway? - You don't hang with us.

ya know, if you get a ps2 and buy the new hockey games, you can create yourself in game, and pretend you played the sport!
