I'm waiting for an "I Love the 90's", too!!! Here's some stuff I would like to see:
TV shows: ER, Friends, The Real World, 90210, Seinfeld, TRL Cartoons: Beavis and Butthead, South Park (is that 90's?) Movies: Titanic, The Matrix, Clueless, Scream, The Bodyguard, Forrest Gump, pretty much anything with Tom Hanks in it! Music: the deaths of Tupac and Biggie, grunge rock (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc.), the Spice Girls, gangsta rap, Puff Daddy, MC Hammer, the Michael Jackson sex scandal, boy bands, Garth Brooks, girl groups, female rockers, Bobby and Whitney getting married, MADONNA!!! Toys: Super Soakers, Beanie Babies Trends: baggy pants, the grunge look, the World Wide Web Historic events: Operation Desert Storm, the Clinton Presidency, the OJ Simpson trial, the Rodney King beating Anything else? |
Anyone remember Hot Loops...they were like flourecent colored nothings that you would braid into stuff :rolleyes:

Do you guys remember those little plastic shirt ties? They were neon colored and you put the excess of your baggy shirt through it, and it sat to the side of your hip. They were used to go with the shirts you wore over your leggings. Completing this look were those giant slouch socks (two pairs/two different colors that you alternated on each foot ala punky brewster) and high tops. Maybe this was just my elementary school though!

Ah... my time period
Seeing that I graduated high school in 1996 I remember alot about the 90's
tv shows- Friends, ER, 90210, Saved by the Bell, Clarissa Explains it all (sidebar I actually got to meet Melissa Joan Hart and her now husband last year at BayFest a local 3-day long music fest in my hometown, she's a really great person), Mystery Science theater 3000(which is now available on DVD!), Twin Peaks (that's backwards-talking little man always scared the bejesus out of me) -cartoons- Aeon Flux (if you watched Liquid Television on MTV), Animaniacs, Beavis and Butthead, Captain Planet, Darkwing Duck, Duckman, and my personal fave (I own the VHS movie) JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS!!! -movies The Bodyguard, Austin Powers, Unforgiven, Wayne's World, Reservoir Dogs (just totally badass), Rudy, Dazed and Confused, Pupl Fiction, Clerks (Kevin Smith movies are the best ever made), Desperado, Hackers, and Friday! -music-TLC, Kriss Kross, Garth Brooks, G'n'R, Billy Ray Cyrus (met him at the same music fest, he still has a mullet), STP, Janet Jackson, NKOTB, Boyz2Men, Bel Biv Devoe, Tim Mcgraw, Faith No More, Biz Markie, Sinead O'Connor, The Divinyls (hee hee), House of Pain, Jesus Jones (I actually still have my cd, the first one I ever bought and I still think it's awesome) Sir Mix-a-Lot, Snow, Haddaway, The Verve Pipe (met the lead singer a few months ago) Marcy Playground, Macarena, The Verve, and many many many more I could name (music is my passion) -trends (clothes, hairstyles, etc...) Clogs, Birkenstocks all year round, Tye-dyed anything, Hypercolor shirts, Cross colors, wearing clothes backwards ala Kriss Kross, Guess Jeans, and the "preppy" look -historic events- the Clinton-Lewinski scandal, the Hiedi Fleiss scandle, The Gulf War cease fire, end of apartheid, birth of The Euro, Y2K scare I guess this is showing my age a little too much since I can remember all of this stuff LOL! -tv shows most of you have named them all. . .My SO Called Life, Keenan and Kel, Martin, In Living Color, Living Single, MTV Real World, Seinfeld -cartoons didn't really watch them -movies the jury's still out -music Boot Scoot Boogie, Tim McGraw -toys -trends (clothes, hairstyles, etc...) the Beatles haircut, the mullet(b/c of Achy Breaky Heart), Dixie Chicks making it okay for white girls to wear the black people's cornrows, jean overalls with one strap undone, jogging pants with one leg up, nylon warm-ups with the running stripes down the side, black clubbing pants(i was a senior in HS when people started wearing those in abundance), double earrings(stemming from the one earring), tongue and belly button piercing, tatoos, one night stands -historic events Jerry Springer throw-downs Rikki Lake losing pounds RuPaul and the emergence of transgenders stripping becomes a big commodity for college women Greek hazing crackdowns the conventional $1 menu at Wendys |
