I can also see some schools blocking the expansion of DZO because they don't want to be associated with that kind of hazing. I think DZO will have a much more difficult time expanding.

Best wishes to SAEPi expansion but I just find it sooo interesting that the one chapter that was colonized before SL aired is no longer a part of it. The SDSU chapter was colonized at the beginning of the filming of SL so I wonder if they weren't getting the support they needed at that time or if the girls were just that adamant about not being part of a large national.

LOL I never thought of that. No one calls them that (until now). Our intrest group used to be Alpha Chi before we went National (but this was in 1948). Imagine if we were still Alpha Chi today with all the Armani Exchange stuff.

Yeah but do you wear just the letters AX? YOu always attach that Omega there, so theres the distinction lol ah well, kinda clever

Actually we do have stuff that just says Alpha Chi...for recruitment we had mock Armani Exchange shirts cause we're Alpha Chi....We have a million and one songs/chants about being Alpha Chi girls and such.

On a related note, I was looking at the University of Minnesota Greek website (www.begreek.org) and noticed that they now list Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi under their sorority section. I know that while I was there (2001-02 school year), there was a group of Jewish students who wanted to create a sorority intended mainly for girls who shared their faith. AEPhi and SDT were both at the U for a while, back in the days when they were both predominantly if not entirely Jewish, but both have long since closed. They weren't able to bring in a new sorority because of Panhel expansion rules -- not all groups are at total. I'm not sure what total is at the U of M but the NPC groups range in size from 38-77, with most groups hovering between 50-65. Here's an article on it: http://www.mndaily.com/articles/2002/05/07/7651 The local sorority they had started sounds quite similar to SAEPi and I'm wondering if the same group of girls decided that they wanted to become an SAEPi chapter. Any other SAEPi chapters popping up? |
I wish good luck to BOTH of these sororites......I don't know how open NPC will be though to any new sororities as I think mine was one of the last ones to join in 1951 I could be wrong though....Anways I think it is greatly greek of me to not turn and do the same things to others as I do not wish others do to me.
Good luck to both SAEPi and DXO. |
I love how people trash talked them and said they set such a bad example and now everyone is wishing them luck.

ok Rudey
but look how many other orgs(nationals like us) have been in trouble for hazing, or a bad image....Unless someone is physically harmed I will always wish the best for these groups to learn from their experiences and grow stronger....life goes on, and more knowledgable Greeks and people should help those out in constructive ways to maybe overcome their shortcomings. Just my opinion though...... |
