You absolutely do not have to drink or smoke or date fraternity guys or anything else. If you go to various sororities web sites you can read the History section and see the principles upon which the sororities were founded. It is sad that greeks get bad press about alcohol, but the media is biased and rarely takes the opportunity to talk about the good things we do. Drinking is not a greek thing...it is personal choice. Please don't believe the stereotypes http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

We have lots that don't drink and nobody thinks anything of it. If anything, they are respected even more. Despite how sororities are portrayed we are a lot more than parties and alcohol.

I rushed and pledged stone cold sober as I barely drink at all, usually on special occaisons. It was difficult at points bc even though all the guys knew I didnt drink and never overtly pressured me into drinking, at times I was one of the very few sober people in the house.

However, all of them thought it was a great idea as there are always some brothers that need to be driven home at the end of a good party. We jokingly call my car "the Teke Taxi" for the numerous trips I make some times. Now if only i could get a tip jar...

hey how did it go for you guys during rush. I finally have time to check my email. As a side note some of my closest sisters do not drink and it has never been an issue
