My advice, go to rush. If you like them, and they like you, great. If you're still getting the "I shouldnt do this" vibe, then don't do it. ------------------ ------------------ No funny squiggles, just bold letters: TKE |

The old saying comes to mind, if you do not look then you dont know!
The preconceptions of each Greek Org on campus can be blown away after you go through rush and see all of the houses! What you thought may not really be true and what you find to be right will be. When I originally pledged a Frat. at Pitt it was a local and became one of the biggest Nationals! After I was booted, I started a local as that is the way i am and we had to of the bigger Nationals come to present themselves to us and look us over at the same time! we voted after a 14 hr. meeting to LXA and I have never looked back even though I have Freinds in other Greek Orgs. I am still a LX I was lucky and found what I wanted in the end so you must to look to see what is the best for you! Maybe not what you had wanted but what you end up loving! ------------------ Tom Earp LX Z#1 Pittsburg State U. (Kansas) |
Liz--Like many other people on this post I will reinforce the idea that the Greek system doesn't have to rule your life. Some people are ultra-dedicated and some people just come to mandatory events, but most of us are somewhere in between. Even if you decide not to pledge a sorority I would encourage you to get involved with some student organization at UA. There is nothing better than finding a "family" somewhere on your campus. I can't even begin to explain it but the benefits are truly endless.
On another note....my sister is going to be a freshman at UA this fall and she just recently decided that she was going to go through rush. She struggled with that decision for a while but relaistically, what can you lose by trying? My sis thinks that no matter what might happen she will end up meeting a lot of great people in the process. I will try to get her to post on here--maybe you guys can excahnge e-mail addresses or screen names and talk out your worries and frustrations. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Anyway...good luck and enjoy!
