So, until I moved to NY, I had never heard of Alfred State. Then I bought a certain book that mentioned the fraternities at Alfred State and the various deaths associated. It took me two seconds, before anyone else even brought it up, to figure it was most likely at Alfred State. The OP is a moron. Good job, buddy! You should be proud! Keep hazing for an organization that no one will have ever heard / care about once you leave college. Here's your Darwin award.

*Note: Hazing, in my eyes, isn't good for ANY organization (local or national).

I never understood the purpose behind message board researchers. Let idiots be idiots. There is no need to call out institutions, potentially call out GLOs, and potentially make someone identifiable as a person.

Like I said, let idiots be idiots. GC is not that serious. GCers should have way too much awesome stuff in their personal and professional lives than to research this stuff and POST what they find. As far as I'm concerned there's no difference between the "GC psychos" and this. That goes for naraht and anyone else.

So, fuck you.

Was this aimed at the original poster, or my research just above your post?

I viewed it as him giving us a puzzle, he willingly gave a clue to his school, I solved the puzzle. (I like solving puzzles)

More seriously, as long as his school and fraternity aren't known then his statements make all GLOs everywhere look bad. If his school and fraternity are known then the specific bad apple group is identified and my Fraternity and yours aren't tagged with the "Hazing is Good" BS.

I was also waiting for a program to finish running and it was this research or continuing some checking on Wikipedia...

The OP. I believe the most recent fraternity death at Alfred University happened right before I prepared to go off to college, and since I grew up within 45 minutes of Alfred, it was still really fresh in my parents' minds when I decided I wanted to join during my sophomore year.

You not only wasted time solving a "puzzle" but you posted what you found. Congrats. I put you in the same category as the "GC Psychos."

No, it doesn't "make all GLOs everywhere look bad." Don't try to speak for what makes my SORORITY look bad. This is definitely not it.

I am now amused that you think researching "make all GLOs everywhere" look less bad. Usernames can be passed off as stupid people who may not even be in a GLO. Once you research the school and other things, you are making the username more real and telling more information than necessary.

So, after that other excuse, you are now pretending that this was just done to pass time. Whatever. Carry on. I would normally let a thread like this die but I never like when people do this type of message board research. I felt it needed to be said for the kazillionth time.

NSFW because of language and a quick scene.

Hazing is good. :D

I can't bring myself to watch this again. I was slain and had an out of body experience the last time when I lost my breath from laughing.

I know many GCers feel this way, but if you put yourself out there to be scrutinized, and the information is public, what's the problem? I can understand not posting a person's address/phone number, etc. but linking to other websites? Not seeing the issue.

If it was so obvious it wouldn't require research. We would know the information when we clicked on the GC threads.

People who set themselves up to be scrutinized don't necessarily know they are setting themselves up to be researched. If GCers want to put people on blast like that they should also know that there are potential negative outcomes to putting people on blast like that. And I'm not just talking about my negative opinion of the practice.
