First off ma'am, calm down.

Second, read: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=93174

It tells you all you need to know about starting a new sorority.

Third, understand that when you come to a site to ask for help, you get nowhere with snottiness. You're the one who is interested in sorority life. You will get nowhere if you have that attitude in real life.

Fourth, Senusret I is hereby sent to the corner. Thank you.

Um, why are you helping her? You know she will set up a free webpage, copy all of our shit, and come back here with a ridiculous sounding motto in her siggy! It will be the United Nations org with a little bit of everything.

The founderitis has got to end.

3 snaps and a Backside 720 but...

why are you messing with her Kuumba and Kujichagulia? Shouldn't this be about Ujima? ;)

Oh...Here we go again! Look, just because noone wanted to give you a bid doesn't mean you need to start your own sorority.

Maybe you should work on getting a better attitude and looking at the incredible organizations already on your campus. You'd be LUCKY to get a bid from any of the NPCs/ NPHCs.

What is it with the entitlement brats these days?

I want to know why, if none of the sororities on campus speak to you, you did not consider chartering a chapter of an org that is not on campus. 12 orgs seems like good pickings, but I can understand not finding your niche AFTER doing in depth research on those you have to choose from. There are MANY more sororities out there, as Matismela pointed out, so if you are just going to recreate one of those... don't bother.

Of course the most interesting irony of this thread is that two of the people chastising the OP belong to a small sorority that hasn't even had its 13th anniversary yet. I wonder if their founders had a case of founderitis too?

I'm sorry, whose sock puppet are you supposed to be again?

I agree. What a ridiculous and unnecessary comment. (Not you, Sen. The one you commented on.)

Very legit comment if the situation involving the founding of that sorority is similar.

Also something I don't think has been mentioned yet,
sure the OP can found a sorority,
but does she realize and understand it will be nowhere near the sorority experience she would be looking for.
Her whole time at college will be filled with worries about numbers, how to get people to take you seriously, etc., etc.
If the OP is infact sucessful only 5-10 years down the road (maybe) will members be actually participating in greek life the way she wishes to participate.

Dear god, I know there have been a lot of topics like this lately, but there is a way to be straightforward without being downright rude.

And what exactly is ironic about my beloved organization celebrating its 13th anniversary on March 9, 2010? How does asking this young lady to examine why she would chose to found a new sorority rather than join an existing one (whether by joining an active chapter or by chartering a chapter) constitute chastising?

My Org's history has nothing to do with my beloved Nine Black Diamonds suffering from 'founderitis'

Thank you though for taking the time out to look up my sorority's founding date in an attempt to disrespect my org, my Soror and me.

*no beef though, its only the internet*
