And the war on stupidity.

Oh wait. We haven't started that war yet. Dang.

Sorry, MC, once an Anal Retentive, always an Anal Retentive. ;)

In my world:

Plusses:
-my puppy
-my (mortgage free!) house
-cell phones are much better, more acceptable & easier to use
-FIOS
-I seem to be aging much like my mother (a definite plus!)
-my chapter is doing quite well!

Minuses:
-Obviously, losing both of my parents wasn't fun
-September 11, 2001
-More $ equal much more stress
-Airlines: less flight choices, less airline choices, more crowded flights... and let's not forget the troubles an underwire bra can cause at some airports!
-Much less time to read for pleasure

And I'm sure I'm forgetting quite a bit. Maybe that's a minus?

Jerry: Oh, well, that's interesting, because, since everyone knows that there's no year zero, the millennium doesn't really begin until 2001, which would make your party one year late, and thus, quite lame.

This is exactly what came to mind for me, also!

Just a few things in the plus column for me for this decade would include:
- graduating high school
- **joining Alpha Sigma Tau**
- graduating college
- The Patriots winning three Superbowls
- The Red Sox FINALLY winning the World Series.. and then another.
- The Celtics winning the NBA Championship title

(Come ooooooon, Bruins!)

10 years is a lot to remember... well, 9 years :D

My back up argument (excuse) is "I did say "practically" in the title!"

But I will stick by my argument, astronomical calendar is my choice. hehe!:D

Like the war on poverty?

I never knew there was a war on poverty. I always thought that's what the government wants in this country. Rich or poor. Of course there's always the lazy, trashy people who couldn't care less. They actually enjoy poverty and all the freebies that come along with it. (and before anyone ask, no I'm not madmax) I'm sorry, but I agree with madmax, but I'm not him/her.

I think it should be more of declaring a war on laziness if anything. As long as there are lazy people, that war can't be won.

Please say you're being sarcastic.

No, I wasn't. I mean, I don't agree with everything madmax says, just the part about people relying on the freebies that I and others have to pay for. DrPhil, I understand some people are less fortunate than others and it's not always their fault. I just have a problem with people who are lazy, disrespectful to others, and/or depend on the tax payer to take care of them and all of their kids. Stop having kids if you can't afford them.

I want to know what we are going to CALL this decade.

I was born in the sixties ('60s), graduated college in the eighties ('80s)...
