Hi OOOOOO-OOOOP Sorors!!! I have always LOVED DST. But I couldn't join undergrad because the chapter was suspended. It did not reactivate by the time I graduated. I didn't want to go alumnae chapter like people advised--but lo and behold I had to. Well, I LOVE Delta but I don't feel the closeness that I expected. I am young (in my 20s) and I don't feel a bond with my LSs. I also catch flack for being alumnae. My process wasn't inadequate--we did more than study and take tests!!! I know that Delta is a BUSINESS first but I want some sisterhood...I'm an idiot and none of the real life Sorors like talking to me so I'm coming to YOU ALL for advice because obviously YOU ALL would know something that I didn't learn during MY process. I'm an idiot. I'm an idiot. Please advise me on how to bond with my LSs and get the sisterhood. It's not my fault I'm alumnae chapter. Thanks!!!

if this is what she wrote.. it still doesn't state that she is a member. Run that info! That post still reads "i'm writing this for my girl. she is hurtin and I am trying to have her back". And the attempt at saying "naw we ain't paper"...ugh, just stop.

Disappointed - hear me, and hear me good. YOU are the reason that YOU don't have a bond with your sands and/or any other soror. If you are not a woman that has a personality to draw in those women into your inner circle, then you still need to sit down and figure out what YOU need to do in order to sustain a lifetime committment in Delta. And the whole feeling of "I had to go alumnae..womp womp", um, you didn't need to go to Rush. A woman who has been looking at Delta via tear stained eyes b/c she actually has been hard at work but due to circumstances beyond her control had to apply for membership via an alumnae chapter, would appreciate the opportunity you received. she might cut you for it in a weak moment. Go sit with a straight shooter Delta Dear to help you with bonding in the Delta realm.

Actually Doc, you got it about right with what she wrote. I saw it yesterday and was wondering if she was for real. I thought she was more than just a bit daffy for many, many, many things, the majority of which surround her "general complaint" of "I'm not liked by the others, wah, wah, wah."
She cannot become Grown, until she learns how to stop, think, and grow up. She is truly a child in many facets and needs to learn that unless she puts something into being a sister, then she will NEVER understand HOW to be a Soror of DST.

DrPhil 05-29-2009 10:42 PM

I guess it goes without saying that I took narrative license with the idiot part. :p

ladygreek 05-29-2009 10:47 PM

You people are sooooo mean.

Senusret I 05-30-2009 01:10 AM

For someone who was in the exact situation as the "soror" who started this thread, I am in total agreement in what Soror NiaX said. I guess I need to go on GC more on the weekends.
