I can't get past the username. No offense, but sweaty candy? GROSS!

I'm really hoping it was an honest misspelling of sweet.

Any updates sweatcandy? Initiation would have been around now, I think.

you're all making really valid points, but i want to clear a few things up to really get good advice.

i missed the first day of rushing because i'm from out of state, and because of severe weather conditions in the state i go to school in now, my flight was delayed. in fact, two days or rush got cancelled and crammed into one because of the weather, and that was the day i missed.

secondly, don't get me wrong, all the girls in the chapter i'm in now are sweethearts, and are by NO means hazing me, its just that (and i know this will sound superficial and dumb, but for the sake of being honest) i can never find any of my sisters that are willing to go out, which i love, or really do anything that i like to do. i usually end up going out with a large group of other chapters' sisters, making me think that i've been in the wrong place all along. because of our lack of common interests, conversation and common ground is something difficult to come by.

this may not make much of a difference, but i didnt want to put out the wrong message.

I'm not saying we hold missing rush against you, but that women in the other sororities might, weather issues or not.

As far as going out is concerned, when I first joined my sorority, there were 2 factions, one who only liked to go to ABC fraternity and one who only liked to go to DEF. Those were the ONLY 2 fraternities our sisters partied with on a regular basis. I thought this was lame and wanted to go to ALL the fraternities, not just the "safe" ones. In the next semester's pledge class was a girl who felt the same as I did, and the 2 of us began hanging out at different fraternities. It helped get our sorority's name out and attract more women who were like us. What is that quote - be the change you want to see in the world? Ask some of the girls in your pledge class or other sisters to come along with you the next time you go out.

And just because these girls in the other sororities like going out with you, does not mean they would want you as their sister. There were girls I liked to party with that I would have never voted in because they wouldn't have been a good fit w/ the rest of the chapter.

Thanks MysticCat.

I do agree with 33girl, but I would like to ask a question. When you say you never go out with other sisters, does this mean that you never go to parties with them, or does this mean you never go anywhere with them at all? I know you said that they don't like to do what you like to do, but there are certain things that everyone does like to do. Have you thought of asking them to lunch or coffee? I've yet to meet someone who doesn't like lunch.
