She was indeed awesome. All 4'9" of her!!! LOL

I remember watching the event on TV when she became the first woman to land the triple axel in competition. She definitely pushed up the technical level for the girls.

I had a bet going with my friend over the LP.
I had:

1. Cohen
2. Slutskya
3. Arakawa

I was totally off.

i have to disagree. i watched the 1998 game of nagano japan. she did not fall or stumble. the reason she lost was because she was the first to skate. the judges usually dont give out all the points early. tara was somewhere in the end.

however, i think she did fall in salt lake.

I can remember thinking that her draw was her downfall (no pun intended) in Nagano, too. To this day, I don't think that Tara is all that and a bag of chips.

BTW, did y'all know that Tara Lipinski had BOTH hips replaced by the time she was 20? You have to wonder if it's worth it.

I know that's sometimes the case with gymnasts as well.

I can deal with bum knees and ankles...but hips? OY.

I use her as an example to my geriatric clients who don't want a hip replacement all the time!!

Did y'all see the entire list? Compare the Free Skate figures to the End Results.

Okay, so although I don't know much about technical figure skating scores, I really think the Japanese girl had a safe and boring choreography, and really didn't reserve to win gold.

It's a shame so many girls fell, because there were some very nice routines.

i wanna spoon with her Sasha Cohen and let her know it is ok that she didn't win.

then bang her afterwards.

there will be no spooning afterwards. just a walk of shame done by me after I realized that I didn't bang a gold medalist

Good luck with that. It's good to have a goal. ;)

I agree completely. No emotion, no glitz, no oomph. *yawn*

You have to wonder about Sasha Cohen's karma - Michelle Kwan was out due to a groin pull, and she fell twice because of one. And it was such a beautiful routine! What I saw of Irina Slutskaya's program was amazing, but I missed the fall. This is one time where I would have been behind the politics of ice skating. Yet, I'm thrilled that the three Americans all ended in the Top Ten!

I know I've been in a real mood today, but I was really hoping that either Sasha or Irina would have flogged Arakawa with their bouquets. She was so wooden!

Bro I'll be in laguna niguel comforting my baby when she comes home. Does that make you jealous? If so let me know and we can Eiffel tower her.

OK I just saw Arakawa program...beautiful, cautious, but beautiful. Her spins and spirals were first rate....this is the same program that won her the 2004 World Championships.....now if Sasha hadn't fallen on her first 2 jumps....then it would be a different story...

Not my Maryland homegirl Kimmie! She was great and she's gonna be around for another Olympics or two.

That's the thing - she's lovely and talented but boring. No passion.

I'm :( about Irina. Maybe she'll win worlds...
