I'm going to eat crow concerning Emily Hughes - she skated much better than I expected. I still think the political part will keep her from medaling, but she was darn good.

I missed Kimmie Meissner, and didn't see any outstanding highlights. Sasha Cohen is good (can't take that away from her), but doesn't seem to have won anyone's heart yet.

Sorry about how big this picture is, but you have got to see her face:

It also throws you off balance during jumps etc. Just like gymnastics, the women have to keep around 100 pounds to be successful.

i knew a girl in high school who played basketball. she is good and big. but she was one the bigger side in general.

did anyone here catch the news conference about the speed skating smackdown between davis and hedrick? i think hedrick is at fault. if davis didnt want to skate in the team pursuit, he shouldnt have to really explain why. hedrick wanted to win more than anything.

That press conference was one of the more uncomfortable sports moments I've seen in a while. To have those guys a few feet from each other, complaining about the other one; that makes for some good sound bytes.

It seemed to me after one particular comment, I think it was the one where Davis openly criticized Hendrick, that Hendrick was trying to be the better person and bite his tongue. (So much so, I am sure he drew blood!!!

i think chad & davis are both at fault.

they are both full of themselves and have too much pride to back down...

it really doesnt matter to me... i love drama! ♥

Canada just got 2 more medals today. A gold and a silver in 1500m speed skating.

Our total is now 17. I still don't think we're going to make our goal of 25 though.

I think the American skaters did a wonderful job last night.

In fact, all the women skated beautifully and I was truly impressed.
