Popular and Mtv's Undressed
This week the high school girls on Popular go to a Fraternity party. Needless to say, crappy things are gonna happen. Anyone want to start bombarding the WB now, or should we wait till after it airs?
On Mtv this week a character is rushing/pledging a sorority. Eventhough the sorority is cast as powerful bitchy sluts, practically every character on that show is! So I'm not really sure how upset I am about it. But still, how they can portray Greeks that way and then expect groups to let their cameras follow them around for a year?

One thing I wonder about - are any of the MTV VJs Greek? Most probably didn't go to college, but...
I've NEVER seen a High Schooler at any of the Fraternity parties I've gone to. EVER! It seems sorta like a jump into fantasy land, but even if some did show up - they'd probably be mostly ignored. Oh, well.

DJ Skribbles is a Theta Chi. I learned that from my friends in my dorm.
uummmmmmmmmmmm.......as far as the high schooler thing goes...me and some people, who will remain unnamed, where at a location, which will remain undisclosed. Anyway this one guy hooks up with this girl, and while he is taking a pee, she starts talking to me about the prospect of me hooking up with her friend...I ask where they are from, and she's like, here, just down the road. I ask if she went to college here. No. She said no. So either highschoolers or go to the community college about 10 miles away. Community college students would've been alright, well not to drive, but highschoolers!!! oh my god. I know this is only my first year out but even so, the girls i knew that are still in highschool seem so young.

So what happened on Popular? Did Mary Cherry buy the sorority house? I loved that show last year, but they've done too doggone many "very special episodes" this season for my taste. Plus it's on Fridays 7 I'm never home. I do still dig Mary Cherry though, just cause she cracks me up and because she's 30+ and getting away w/ playing a high schooler.
BTW, Touched by a Stereotype is rerunning the "pledge that hazing frat, weak son-o-mine!" episode tonight if anyone is in the mood to throw things at the TV.

Allie, I've had the displeasure of seeing highschoolers (either someone's little bro/sis or prospective freshmen at parties. It's scary, these girls seemed pretty licentious at that point...wait till they actually get to college! I've seen it, and it ain't pretty.

I brought my sister (high school freshman) to some frat parties last year, and believe me, she wasnt totally ignored. Some guys were pretty funny. They would start flirting with her or something, then I'd tell them she was only 14, and they would back off so fast! Hilarious! I don't know how likely it would be for just some random high schoolers to show up at a frat party though. Even the kids that go to high school in my college's town aren't allowed in. Oh well, I guess if TV were real,we wouldn't have the need to watch it!
Erin
PS...I LOVE the show Undressed.
