Soror Deja I haven't heard of a new book by E.Lynn Harris but I will keep my ears open. Have you read any of the following.
Tryin to Sleep in the Bed you Made by Virginia DeBerry & Donna Grant,Blessings by Sheneska Jackson or any books by Lolita Files ?

Deja,I'm not sure about the E Lynn Harris book, but there is a wonderful web site about Black Literature at www.aalbc.com that has a discussion board. One of the moderators keeps us posted with upcoming release dates and gives reviews of books. Check it out you may get some more info about this book.

On a different note, how many avid readers do we have here? What do you think about starting a on-line book club in one of the threads, or maybe in the chat room? I love to read and this summer I am turning off my TV and opening up some books!!

The name of the new Harris book is "Not a Day Goes By". I haven't read it and know very little about it, but it has recurring characters from previous books. One character is from the last book, a "heffa" named Yancey and Basil Henderson has been a character in several Harris books.
I've read all of Harris' books and have never been disappointed. He is an excellent writer. If you have not read any of his books, you have missed a treat. You should try to read them in the order they were written because most of the books mention characters from previous books and some of the situations carry on from one book to the next.
As a caution, I have to say that Harris books have some homosexual content. It's not bad enough to make you physically ill, but if you are offended by this please refer to the website mentioned by Eclipse. It's a good site.
Eclipse, I love the idea of an on-line book club. It sounds like there's a lot of interest. Keep me posted, also.

hi sorors and sisterfriends, i'm WenD08 from Pink and Green Dreams and wendi w. on the Forum. i went to E. Lynn Harris' booksigning last nite, and his next book will be out July 17. his memoirs come out in March 2001, and he's working on a novella w/Eric Jerome Dickey, no date given. check his site, www.elynnharris.com to stay update. another good book is A LONG WAY FROM HOME by Connie Briscoe.
