Alumnae Panhellenics - Recruitment Information sessions 2005 - List them here!
Alumnae Panhellenics - from NPC website http://www.npcwomen.org/alumnae/a_overview.php
What are Alumnae Panhellenics? Alumnae/Area/Hometown Panhellenics: These groups are community based organizations, affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference, whose membership is composed of representative alumnae from NPC member group fraternities. These groups promote the philanthropic efforts of member organizations, promote the advantages of sorority membership, and host educational/informational sessions to promote Greek Life to women who are going to be attending a college or university. These educational/informational meetings are held at the discretion of the individual Alumnae Panhellenic, but usually take place in the spring of the year. The purpose of these meetings will inform a woman of the opportunities for Greek Life at various universities. A form will be distributed to complete and return to a designated person on that Alumna Panhellenic. This form will be made available to the sorority alumnae groups in that area by the Alumnae Panhellenic. The Alumnae Panhellenic does not guarantee that by completing the form, recommendations will be written on a woman's behalf or that a woman will be invited to particular parties during formal recruitment. This form only serves to alert the alumnae in that area that a woman has registered with the Alumnae Panhellenic and have indicated they will be participating in formal recruitment at a particular university. It is then up to an individual sorority alumnae organization to follow-up with a potential member if they need anymore information in addition to what is listed on the form.

Houston TX High School Seniors: Sorority Recruitment Info Session
Quote:
On Saturday, February 26. 2005 the Houston TX area Alumnae Panhellenic is sponsoring two info sessions on sorority recruitment.
For times, location, e-mail contact address, and more info see:
http://www.houston-panhellenic.org/rush/pres-letter.htm
The events will probably help answer questions that women have about NPC recruitment. There should be opportunities to get linked up with women who can help with recommendations. The events aren't limited to women who will be going to Texas schools.
I hope other GCers will post about similar events in other parts of the country.

Fort Bend Co, TX Info Session
Fort Bend Panhellenic works as the hometown support team for young women participating in sorority recruitment at universities. The group is dedicated to helping area young women have the best possible Recruitment experience through such activities as sponsoring this Web site, publishing a Recruitment Information Workbook, and writing the references that are usually required for event invitations during Recruitment. Fort Bend Panhellenic also awards several scholarships each year to college-bound women that participate in Recruitment from the cities of Sugar Land, Missouri City, Richmond, Rosenberg, The Meadows, and Stafford, which are located in Fort Bend County. Sorority membership offers young women an opportunity for involvement with women who share your ideals and goals, not just during your college years, but also throughout your entire life.

http://www.atlantapanhellenic.org/rush.htm
The sign-up deadline is March 15, 2005. Parents can attend, too.
This will be a great chance to learn more about recruitment for the NPC sororities. It would be especially helpful for high school seniors who may be the first ones in their families to think about joining an NPC sorority.
It's also a great chance to get linked up with women who can write letters of recommendation for you. You may also meet some women who will be going through recruitment with you at your college.
I hope there will be posts from other GCers about similar information sessions in other parts of the country.
