Thumbs up Talk About Your Pin!

I love the pin...

Anyhow, with all the talk about the blinged out pins, and how ADPis have a bit more leeway in customizing our pins, I thought those who wanted to describe their pins could. Anyone want to start?

I love my pin!

My own original KD pin is the large size yellow gold with four emeralds along each side and pearl points. It had a chased single letter chapter guard with activities chair, scholarship, big sis and rush counsellor dangles.

I lost it in a move in 2007, found it two months ago! It's my original, and despite the beautiful vintage badges I have collected, still my favorite.

Who else loves his/her pin?

Love mine!!!

My pin is silver and made in 2009. Alternating pearl and saphires with a plain silver chapter guard. It also has a scholarship pearl attatched in the middle of the chain.

Back in my younger years I wasn't a jewelry person at all. So I purchased the basic style. Plus at my chapter few bothered with dangles. After a few years as an advisor (and had come to appreciate the beauty of jewelry) I decided to give myself a Christmas present of a new pin with alternating sapphires and pearls. I also bought all the various dangles I was entitled to wear. I love my new pin and wear it with pride, but my original plain pin is safely tucked away and will always hold a special place in my heart.

Mine is yellow gold with aquamarine points and pearls in between. It has a simple double letter guard (Epsilon Xi) with lots of dangles, my latest being the advisor dangle :-)

I do also have a pin mounted on a ring that I bought on ebay. I love it because of how warn it is, and how much it shows the previous owner loved adpi. It is yellow gold with garnet points and pearls in between. My husband recently got the ring sized so I can actually wear it and had "With Pride" engraved inside the band.

The pin in the top is the one that my parents bought for me when I was a freshmen and an Alpha.

The all pearl one is one that I saved from ebay. It is from 1915.

The one with the guard attached, is the one I wear. It is yellow gold with aquamarine with a plain yellow gold DG guard. This was a "present" to myself in 2004.

White gold, alternating pearls and sapphires, and a plain white gold chapter guard...I absolutely love it.

My initiation pin is white gold, minature (now the only size), pearls with sapphire points. The guard is plain, to match my big's. My chapter was dangle-happy, so I have a lot, but most aren't attached - yet. I love it for the sentimental value, but I don't normally wear white gold anymore. I think that's how I got into watching for pins on ebay!

Mine's all pearls, with a pearl guard, on yellow gold. I have my mother's opal pin on white gold now, too.
