Smile no frills

My campus is going to a no frills rush, and my chapter is having to look into how to go about the transition and what would go on in a no frills rush. Like, what do you do each night? How many nights are there? If you have any other info that would be great too. Thanks for your help!

Sunshine,
No-frills recruitment has the same number of events and days as regular recruitment. The difference is that the focus of the events goes from trying to impress the prospective members with the decorations, food, skits, etc. to spending more quality time with each young woman, impressing her with the sorority itself, not the number of balloons on the wall.

The NPC has wonderful guidelines and suggestions on how to implement no-frills Rush. If your area NPC advisor has not provided these materials to your local Panhellenic, your Panhell. council should ask for them ASAP so they have plenty of time to develop guidelines for your campus.

Also, check with other chapters of your fraternity to see how they coped with no-frills recruitment. Keep in mind, however, that each campus will define this differently and what may work for Chapter A, may not be applicable to Chapter B.

My advice to you would be to start slowly - eliminate some frills this year, more next year until your campus arrives as the desired balance.

Good luck,
Barbara
