Lightbulb The Quarterly

Brothers,

I'm interested in your thoughts on The Quarterly.

Any input is welcome. What you like most, what you like least, what would you change/add/expand, etc. Any comments on the design, photography, page count, ads, etc. Again, this is open to all input.

Post here or feel free to e-mail me: jimmy (at) jimmyball (dot) com

Bring back chapter letters from each chapter at least once a year. Put in more content on the direction of DU, the magazine is very thin in the way of real content.

Thanks for your comments. Just to be clear, by real content you mean substantive and relevant DU focused content, like expansion, pres/board vision and progress, etc., not "real" as in topics and writing you might find in general men's magazines... (I only ask as I've recently noticed more of the latter content in other greek pubs - I just want to be sure.)

Any one else have any input? The more the better.

Jimmy Ball:

DU oriented articles, if I want a general men's magazine I'll go buy Men's Health, GQ etc.

I agree...its been a while and I dont know if you will read this but I agree...we need more DU content. I love finding out what chapters are doing and alumni, but I would love to stay up to date on how expansions are coming and what the board is thinking about with regards to the future of the organization.

Maybe we could also have a history of a chapter section. I think that would be really interesting. Kind of a one or two page feature every month about a different chapter so we can get to know some of our other chapters. I think this could only help us grow as a brotherhood.

Chris, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Quarterly. I'll pass those along and hopefully can get more content along those lines in the magazine.

The next issue is about to print so I'll start up a feedback thread on DU-circle about it.

Thank you both for the comments - like most everything it's work in progress and will need some tweaks and tuning based on the feedback we get. The printed version will be on better grade and heavier paper so it should have a new feel once you can hold it.

I also started a similar thread on du-circle for comments. Thanks again for your feedback.
