Talking Lavalier equivalent for Boyfriend

So I am a Kappa Alpha Theta and I have a boyfriend who is pledging Phi Kappa Psi at another college (30-40 mins away). Even though I was initiated early this year, we have been together for almost 3 years thus the thread. I want to lavalier him on our three year anniversary (May 1st) And I wondered if it was possible. I also am wondering if it would have the same meaning. It's a very confusing concept to me, and I want answers.

Traditions vary by campus.

On my campus, it was not uncommon for a sorority member and a fraternity member to exchange lavaliers -- she wore his letters on a chain and he wore her letters on a chain.

There are a ton of threads on this, if you look for them.
