We have no major plans yet. We are involved in 3 major weddings this year (including his sister's) so we wanted to get those all "out of the way" before we start making our own plans. We are thinking though possibly the fall of next year. As for the proposal, it was just another "typical" day and I didn't expect it at all.........but here's what I wrote in my blog about it:

The proposal.............

OK, so if you guys saw my bulletin earlier, yes, Michael totally popped the question, totally surprised me, and I totally said yes. It was completely unexpected and the way it happened/events going on at the time are typical "Michael Law" (like Murphy's Law LOL). So, he told me he decided last Saturday when I was out and about that he was going to get the ring. Him and his business partner, Al, went to the lady where Al got his fiance's ring last summer. I so can't believe that he's known about this for a week and I had no clue LOL.

So anyways, to the proposal:

Thursday night, I receive a telephone call from my uncle, who I haven't seen in awhile, that he's in town on business and he wanted to get together with me for dinner on Friday night. Michael totally starts freakin' out and getting all mad that HE wanted to spend time with me that night. I didn't pay him any mind however, thinking he's just stressed from work and such. Anyways, I never did end up getting to see my uncle yesterday because he called me at work that morning to say he had to go back to DC (total coincedence).

So Michael gets home from work last night, around 7:30. Of course he is going on and on about how stressed he is and that he just wants to go down to the beach to de-stress for a little while, then go out for drinks and dinner. Fine.

So we go down to the beach. As we arrive at the beach (and this is so the part of "Michael's Law" that I am talking about), we see all these lifeguard trucks racing down the beach, lights on and sirens blarring. Apparently, someone is being rescued from the water. (Yes, very depressing, and I honestly hope they are okay). At that point, Michael starts flipping out because I have stopped to watch what is going on..........he literally starts dragging me down the beach by my ARM saying how he doesn't want me to watch this, it's going to upset me, etc. etc. Of course, I am getting mad about this........

So we head off down the beach, me obsessing that the person is okay the whole time..........

Michael is then like, "This is my luck. I don't want you to watch this anymore. I want you to watch this............."

He got down on his knee right there and pulled out the ring.

I was completely shocked and started crying and laughing and basically had all of these different emotions, and of course, I am still concerned about the rescue down at the other end of the beach.......

So about 10 minutes went by (or so it seemed) and yes, I did say yes.......

We walked back home and I called my mom, and he called his mom and dad. Everyone (his mom especially) was shocked that he was able to keep this a secret from everyone for a week.

Now my head literally feels like it's going to explode. I've been able to sleep a little bit tonight LOL. We are going up to see my parents today, and probably his family tommorrow. I am still in total shock and have no idea yet when "the date" is going to be.

I can say though that we will probably make a decision after his sister's wedding (and his business partner's and friend Dave's) weddings are completely over this December...........

I still hope that person that was being rescued was okay............

Congrats! I'm so happy for you! Will the puppy be in the wedding?

And I'm sure the rescue mission went well.

LOL. Actually, the dog is doing much better. I must say I have found an awesome vet. He's on meds now but I think his condition will be reversible, or at least controllable. I have like a thousand different ideas of what I want to do for the wedding. I thought before I actually got engaged I'd know exactly what I wanted. So not so anymore........
