What is traditional?

Although most greek organizations were created in the early 1900's what makes them traditional to Black American's/ African American's. I have much respect for the traditions we were raised with. Things that I learned about the greek culture back in the day made me re-think joining a greek sorority. Although, G Phi G and S Phi S were started in the 1960's Iota Phi Theta was started kinda late to be considered traditional, but because it is part of the greek fam it is alright.

I'm not really sure if you are intending to ask a question or just making general statements. Furthermore, I'm confused as to your logic and the message that you may be trying to convey. Are you saying that only organizations founded in the early 1900s can be considered traditional? Are you saying that even though the Iotas are not traditional by those standards, they are "alright" because they are "part of the greek fam"? Please clerify.

For general purposes, the founding years for the orgs you mentioned are as follows:

Groove Phi Groove --> 1962

Iota Phi Theta --> 1963

Swing Phi Swing --> 1969

All of the above organizations have been around for 30+ years, so these are not your average "pop-up" orgs. All of these organizations were founded during The Civil Rights Movement, which was a major social movement that greatly changed this country's long-held "traditions" of segregation, racism and sexism.

What is Traditional?

The point that I was trying to get across is that people define greek founding years (i.e. 1908, 1914, 1920, etc.) as traditional. I personally think that Swing and Groove is as traditional as it gets, but I was trying to compare Iota's founding year with the Black and White fam's founding year to show that everyones concept of traditional varies from person to person.
