Rush T-Shirts
Sorry, I posted this on the wrong forum.
I was just wondering what kind of designs for rush shirts some of you have used. Here's some at SDSU:
Alpha Phi did the Tobasco Logo and just substituted the words Alpha Phi instead of Tobasco.
ADPi took the American Pie logo and just dropped the E (American Pis).
ADPi also used the volcom logo.
KA used the 7 Up logo, with a green shirt saying Kappa Alpha on the front and Up Yours on the back.
Sammy did the Shortys Tshirt design and just used Sammy instead of Shorty.
A couple semesters ago, we used the Jack Daniels logo.
The next semester we used the Coors Light logo and just wrote Delta Sig instead of Coors Light. It turned out to look really awesome.
This semester, we took the Hustler t-shirt design with the letters made out of girls doing "things", simply changing it to DeltaSig instead of Hustler.

I want that has the darwin chart of evolved humans with us at top and the other fraterities as the pre homo sapien sapiens. But everyone says that will start fights. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Last quarter we had black t-shirts with the GI Joe logo in full color and it said Sigma Pi instead of GI Joe, and then underneath it said "The Real American Fraternity" instead of "the Real American Hero". We also had an American Flag on the right sleeve.
We got tons of props for those shirts.

our rush shirts this semester were really cool.
we had "phi kappa psi fall rush 2002" on the front, and on the back it said "if you thought you could stop us...." then underneath it there was asian writing, but when you turned the shirt sideways is said "go screw yourself." i will try to get a picture of it on here go you can see what i am talking about.

Memorable rush shirts...
AEPhi's rush shirt from my senior year was a navy shirt with letters in white, made to look like the GAP logo. (Not really a "rush shirt", but they were printed for rush, and everyone wore them at one of the parties.)
Our bid day shirts from that year were an American Express card with "Alpha Epsilon Phi" where "American Express" would go, the date of bid day as the "credit card number", and a giraffe where the centurion would be. Back: "Membership Has Its Privileges"
When I rushed, AXO had a rush shirt that was red with white writing, "Alpha Chi Classic", in the script you would see on a Coke can. Their theme for that party was based around Coca-Cola. (AXO at my school went by AXO, not Alpha Chi, to avoid confusion with Alpha Phi. Some of my fellow PNMs got confused and thought we'd wandered into Alpha Phi's party )
ZBT did a rush shirt one year with the logo from Zima, substituting the letters ZBT. "A unique non-pledging fraternity."
Theta Chi always had shirts that billed their rush as "Ox Hunt".
OP, the evolution chart thing could still work if you used random Greek letters rather than the letters of any real org. Or, use Ox Hunt!

My fav shirt of all time was Lambda Chi Alpha's: they were brown t-shirts with LXA on the front like a UPS logo, then on the back it said "we get more box then UPS Rush LXA!"
Some people found it degrading, I thought it was funny as hell. Considering it is SOOOOOOOO not true.

wow! i don't think any of our sororities would do the drinking/tobacco rush shirts... although our fraternities do... we save the scandal for event tees!
our rush shirts this year are "I *heart* Pi Phi shirts, like the I *heart* NY shirts... and our bid day shirts are going to be the same, only on the back they're going to say "and Pi Phi loves me too!"
The other sororities at my school did not do a very good job this year, i'm afraid, great groups though they are. It was very surprising. 3 of the 5 groups chose red shirts! and two of those groups chose coca-cola themes relating to "the real thing"...
the other group has a gray shirt with the letters and the school mascot. it's not very exciting. i'm proud of us!

This year Theta used Sweet Home Alabama song as their bid day theme and changed it to Sweet Home Kappa Alpha Theta. It was kinda cute.
Other idea we used not for rush but another shirt was the Pepsi logo. It has our greek letters in the middle where Pepsi should be written and at the bottom it has the pepsi slogan 'you've got the right one baby' and underneath that it has Delta Gamma written out. pretty cute.

As rush chair, I absolutely refused to have anything but the coolest rush shirts ever. For a few years, we had a huge problems with rush shirts - I like to call the problem the "flying squirrel syndrome." This is when the underarms and sides of the shirt are so f*ing huge that you could fly off one academic building on our campus (the Cathedral of Learning) and land on another building (the William Pitt Union) because your shirt can flap in the wind. No one wants to wear the rush shirts because they feel ridiculous in them and we shouldn't wear the rush shirts because we do look ridiculous in them.
This year, we ordered black baby tees and had written on them really huge in hot pink script "Party Like a Deepher" taken off the saying to party like a rockstar. On the back we wrote "Delta Phi Epsilon Fall Rush 2002" in the same hot pink script. Then on the back, in smaller white print, we wrote our motto with a little rush slogan worked in: "To Be Rather Than To Seem To Be... Just Be." They're normal sizes, and went over really well on campus. Even some of our alumnae ordered shirts and wore them when TA-ing classes and taking grad classes.
Tri-Sig had really cool shirts this year - black baby tees (DZ's had black baby tees too) with the green Doublemint wrapper saying "Sigma Sigma Sigma." One the black it said in bright green "Triple your pleasure, Triple your fun." I thought they were cute.

Our chapter does rush sweatshirts every year...I love their shirts this year. They are white, hooded sweatshirts, with "Pi Beta Phi Angels" on the front, with a little "A" in the middle with wings and a halo. On the back it says "Find your wings -- rush 2003". So cute. Of course, the rush chair told me that she was repremanded by Panhellenic by using "rush" rather than "recruitment"...LOL, what is the difference??? Maybe its just my "old school" side showing again...

Usually we keep the design and message simple. Last year's was a little different. Our mascot is a snake and 2001 was the year of the snake. So we used the chinese character that represented the year of the snake and simply put "Rush Sigma Nu Fall 2001"

I was the bid day chair this year, and we did the I heart Phi Mu (in greek letters) on the front (like the I heart NY shorts) and on the back Perfection by Selection. They were way cute!
