Scream Queens

The people who brought us Glee and American Horror Story are bringing out a comedy horror TV series this fall called "Scream Queens." It centers around the secrets and murders of members of the Kappa Kappa Theta sorority house. The plot centers around a "1995 pledge gone wrong and someone who is out for vegenance." Jamie Lee Curtis is playing the Dean.

I'm probably going to hell for watching this, but I sort of can't wait. It has the potential to be really, really funny. I haven't been this happy to hear about a new show since I heard that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was being turned into a TV series.

I will probably check this out as well. I hadn't heard of it, but it looks interesting enough to investigate.

I got to see a sneak preview in a movie theatre last week. I love American Horror Story and the first few seasons of Glee, but was unimpressed with the first episode of this. First, why use Kappa Kappa Tau and the nickname Kappa - it looks so much like Kappa Kappa Gamma!

There are also things that I know Greek Chatters would enjoy, like a girl wearing her mother's badge to recruitment! My friend didn't understand why that was strange, but can you imagine?

Oh no! I like AHS and I liked the first couple of seasons of Glee so I was hoping this might be good too. I'm still going to check it out though.

That's the point of using KKT. I can definitely see how viewers might find that more entertaining than having random letters.

That would be bizarre! Hahaha, I like that little detail.

I'm sure it's going to be terrible on the details of Greek life. I am a lawyer married to a nurse, though, so I am used to everything being wrong on TV.

Just saw an ad for this. I'm sure I'll get sucked in and watch it.

Just saw the promo trailer on Fox for Scream Queens. I had to rewind it several times to make sure the front of the house said KKT and not KKG!

Reminder bump! This show starts tonight. I think it looks campy and fun.

I'm generally not a fan of Ryan Murphy's stuff. We'll see.

I've watched most, if not all, of Ryan Murphy's stuff - "Nip/Tuck", "Glee", "American Horror Story".

I hope "Scream Queens" doesn't rely too much on stereotypes, although since it's for entertainment purposes, it likely will. I mean, who would watch a TV show about young women raising money for a philanthropy?

It was stereotype central. It was farce and not parody territory. Someone I know IRL dropped it after ten minutes.

Unfortunately, it was SLOW farce. If you're going to do farce, it should move a lot more briskly than Scream Queens moved for the premiere. They really need to step up the pace.

It was...not good, for many reasons. Mainly because it was stereotypical of everyone, and not in a smart, satirical way. Emma Roberts cannot carry a show and Jamie Lee Curtis was the best part of the episodes.

That’s disappointing. I ended not watching it because my husband wanted to watch the new Muppets (which unfortunately, I thought was just “meh”), and the DVR was being used to record something else.

Assuming it’s available OnDemand, I still might check it out. It’s supposed to rain all weekend anyway.
