my first AXO run in!
its me again!
i just thought id write to tell you of a lovely experience i had yesterday! i came home for the night to attend my uncles funeral, and so friday i was at a local drugstore, perusing the valentine day candy aisle. i had on letters, and this woman comes up to me, and shes like "i just have to ask, where are you an alpha chi?" and i said indiana state, and she goes "oh my gosh, thats where i was an alpha chi!" turns out, she just graduated 2 years ago. so we stood in the aisle for probably 15 minutes talking about the chapter, the girls who are still in it that she knows, and me telling her to come visit us sometime! it was funny, towards the end, she was like "have you been initiated yet?" and i said nope not til march! and she goes "ok! i was gonna come up and shake your hand, but i wasnt sure if youd know it!" lol. interesting. anyway. made my day all that much better! what a nice woman, from MY chapter!!!
AX love and mine

I just love running into Alpha Chi's in places you would never expect to meet them! I was walking at the par course not to long ago in an AXO tshirt, and had a girl approach me! We ended up talking for an extra lap! Always a nice feeling!

well i have a funny story, when im home over the summer, i take care of my neighbors pets/plants... and have been doing this for a while. BUT my freshman summer -- i went over to get briefed on what needd to be done, and she asked about school - so i mentioned that i'd joined axo.. and she was like... WOW, really? Turns out she was an alpha chi at DePauw U. Then, she gave me a 'thank u' present after i did everything -- a lyre keychain. It was sooooo cool. we have since had many talks about our experiences.

My best friend joined AXO about a week before I did. She's at UF and their rush was earlier than ours. She told me the name of her house, but I didn't really remember it (I was Greek letter illiterate at the time!). Then, when I told her what house I was in, we realized that we were both sister as well! So, my best friend is an AX.. a girl I grew up with is an AXO at Syracuse, another girl I went to high school with is an AXO at American, another girl I knew from school is an AXO at Maryland. We're all over the place and its great seeing them because we always bring up the fact that we're sisters.
Oh, and I was at Baskin Robbins last week and I was wearing my cute letter sweatpants. A girl who worked there, on her way out, passed by me and said "Hey! I'm an AXO too!" Turns out she's an AXO at UPenn.
ANOTHER AXO run-in! A famous one, this time! A bunch of my sisters and I were in line to hopefully see a taping of American Idol. I was looking at the VIP line and noticed a woman who walked by that I kinda recognized. I wasn't sure it was her, so I talked about it with my friends. One of them decided to yell "Laura!" and see what happened. I was right; it was Laura Innes from ER (one of our famous alums!). So, I went up to her afterwards and let her know that we were all AX's and that we took pride in the fact that she was one of our alum. She thought it was really sweet and introduced herself to me, and then introduced me to her son. She was super sweet and it was really cool to make the AXO connection. The joys of living in LA! Oh! And my roommate and another AX that I was with ended up being on national television! They were featured in the national commercial saying "Clay all the way!" and cheering and then FOX interviewed them and showed their interview during the American Idol finale episode. It was pretty cool seeing my sisters on national TV!
Oh, sorry! Let me introduce myself! My name is Whitney and I'm at USC. I'm new to these boards, but I'm excited to talk to other AX's about anything and share some ideas, concerns, etc. My current location says Los Angeles, but I'm spending the summer at home in Maryland (which would explain why all of my AX friends that I mentioned above are on the east coast).

Hey you alpha chi's... i have a favor to ask. I'm re-doing the webpage at my school... and i wanna know what you think of hte main banner that i made yesterday. HERE
1. I know the links are not evened out, but that will be fixed
2. Between the banner, and that green bar will be an actual page... not white space.. lol!

Looks great! I always go straight to the pictures and I did notice something very small. On the rolling note to the left where it says thank you.
Thak you for visiting
the web page of Alpha
Chi Omega
That kind of jumped out when I glanced over there. Maybe it's not a biggie, and maybe I'm into too small of details, but I think it would be better if Alpha Chi Omega was in succession rather than seperated. Maybe ask around if it really matters.

as i read all these stories...and in the case with the girl that i ran into, does anyone shake any of these nice, fellow AXOs hands? just wondered. would seem kind of strange to me, but not at all, all at the same time. just wondered!!

hey yall!!
i'd just like to say that i met a fellow Alpha Chi tonight and it was so random! i went to this outdoor concert here in richmond, and i was with my good friend from high shcool. we met up w/ 2 of her friends from middle school and we were introducing ourselves, and one goes, oh what soror are you and i go, AXO, and she goes, OMG so is she! so it turned out that i met an AXO from Virginia Tech! it was compltely ironic because i had been reading this forum earlier about running into other AXOs and then i meet one where i least expected it! anyway....thats my fun little story for tonight, haha....hope yall have a great night!

I don't usually -- I mean I haven't had that many run-ins, but I just never do. I guess because if I ran into one and said "OMG - you are an AXO" then we'd start chatting (ie, where are you from? etc.) -- it wouldn't be like "Oh, you're an AXO -- what do you think of our ritual where it says......" -- so we wouldn't be discussing anything like that.
And I took your PS off -- you don't need to worry about things like that
You are SO cute - it cracks me up!! I swear that if someone cut you, you would have red and green swirls running around everywhere

haha. so i was at the mall the other night with my best friend. the girls who work there had out a maltese puppy that had just been bought, and they were grooming it. we go over to pet it. i have on an AXO hayride sweatshirt and my lavaliere.
the girl who is messing with the dog, looks at me and goes "oh! hey! im an alpha chi too! at texas christian" and dug her lavaliere out from under her shirt and showed it to me. lol it was just kinda funny, but cool! i loooove just running into AX's! i wouldve talked to her longer if it was possible, but she was busy, and yeah. oh well. neat anyway!!!

it's so funny that i came across this post! yesterday my boyfriend and i were in the Container Store and i was wearing my favorite purple letter shirt and this woman comes up to me and says 'Excuse me, are you AXO?' and i was like 'Uh, yeah i have the shirt on' and she said 'My husband recognized the letters, i'm an area advisor!' and i was SO EXCITED, i absolutely love meeting alpha chis, and my boyfriend was like "sheesh, y'all are EVERYWHERE!'...i remember my first non-campus AXO meeting, when i met an AXO sister from UVa at a john mayer concert, i practically tackled her trying to shake her hand...i always seem to run into AXOs too, but maybe it's because i love wearing my letters
