Greek Life Forum Guidelines and Posting Rules

This is the GREEK LIFE forum, therefore all threads should deal with issues pertaining to Greek Life, your school, your chapter, your national organization.

Abusive, inflammatory, off topic and inappropriate threads and posts will be deleted. Such a decision is the sole discretion of the Greek Life moderators. No explanation is needed for us to moderate our forum.

Threads to say "Hi I'm new" or "Do you date men from ABC fraternity" etc, do not belong in Greek Life. There are Chit Chat, Dating and Relationships, Entertainment and News & Politics threads, just to name a few. Try them.

A couple of other points to keep in mind....

Differences of opinion and even spirited debates are always welcome and encouraged, provided a thread doesn't devolve into personal attacks against posters rather than debating the original issue.

Please keep your choice of vocabulary within reasonable limits of decorum (this includes avoiding epithets in addition to routine vulgarity).

These are among the most frequent reasons why threads are either locked or deleted.

If you have a problem with an individual post in a forum that you think should be deleted, let the forum moderator know.

If you have a problem with a specific GCer whose actions you think warrant banning, let John know. JOHN IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN BAN PEOPLE FROM POSTING ON GREEK CHAT. Here's his profile.

To any new users thinking they're going to post solicitations for their wares on these boards:

This is NOT an e-commerce website, and nobody wants to see your spam regardless of how creative or amusing (you think) it may be. Unless you have received permission from the administrator himself, your ad(s) will only remain up as long as it takes for one of the several moderators to delete it, and your account will remain open only as long as it takes for either the administrator or one of our four super moderators to ban you. Rest assured, however, that your posts will be deleted and your account will be banned. Period.

So please, spare us. Don't even bother.
