Wink Kevin Federline Launches Own Website

Britney Spears' Husband Launches Web Site

12/27/2005 3:00 PM, AP
Associated Press

Kevin Federline, aspiring rapper and husband of Britney Spears, has unveiled his own Web site.

Federline, whose new hip-hop album, "The Truth," is due out in 2006, appears to expect big things in the coming year.

The Web site begins with an introduction of Federline rapping, "Keep messin' with my family and you're through," played over various tabloid articles about the couple. (Spears has sued Us Weekly for $20 million, charging the celebrity magazine published a false story reporting that she and Federline had made a sex tape and were worried about its release.)

Eventually, the screen dissipates to announce: "Now that I have your full attention, never judge a book by its cover." This is followed by, "I'm coming ... 2006."

In a note on the Web site, Federline says he hopes "this will provide you with the opportunity to get to know who I really am."

The 27-year-old former backup dancer and Spears, who were married last year, have an infant son, Sean Preston, who was born in September.

Although there have been tabloid reports of strife, the 24-year-old pop singer plugs Federline's Web site in a posting on her Web site.

I don't know either. I'm tempted to IM and ask him.

It has been around since Friday but no one (i.e the news) bothered to announce it until Tuesday.

I saw that on AOL as their 'top headline' must have been a slow news day

Sadly, I went on the site for morbid curiousity, and the flash intro is so stupid that I started crying b/c I was laughing so hard at it.

I'm wondering too, who is his target audience?

I swear, I want to hold that boy down and shave that annoying perma-stubble thing he has going on. And the cornrows...don't get me started. White people look stupid with cornrows.

I read in US Weekly those cornrows cost Britney $5,000. I could walk down the street in Pittsburgh and probably find 5 people who would give me cornrows for less than $50.

Kevin Federline, Cyberspace Freeloader

Blogger Dorking Out had the inspired idea to take a closer look at the source code for the URL for which we y’all weren’t ready, kevinfederline.com:

When you go to http://kevinfederline.com/ and look at the source code, the flash intro’s URL is var mMovie = “http://www.britneyspears.com/kfed/intro.swf”;

So his website is leeching bandwidth off Britney’s website host (saving him upwards of $20 a month).

Art imitating life?

We think a more appropriate conclusion would be “art imitating a fundamental concept of biological science.” And while the monthly web hosting fee might seem at first like an insignificant and very achievable sum for Britney’s B-boy bitch, you must also take into account that that same $20 can also buy a whole dime bag of Blueberry Haze from the Federlines’ permanent house guest, the Weedman.

I want to know the source for this story...

I thought the point of a dime bag was that it was a "dime"($10)...that would mean he could be a whole TWO dime bags... but then things could have changed since DARE when I was in 6th grade....

Haha, no. It varies regionally.

I have a friend who once paid $50 for a quarter-bag in college. This friend, being from another state, paid $25 for a quarter-bag in the old state.

But, this friend also said the stuff in the more expensive bag was waaaaaay better than the stuff in the $25 bag.

I just want to know what possessed him to become a RAPPER...one factor in hip-hop is credibility. I'm not even going to touch his "lyrics".

Unfortunately, given the introduction of the genre to a generation who doesn't know who KRS-One, Chuck D and Big Daddy Kane are, there will probably be a pop audience that will welcome his crap....
