Although I am not black (but I also don't fit neatly into ANY of the general race categories), and this post does belong in the chit chat forum, I just wanted to say that I was HIGHLY unimpressed by Bush's visit at Bob Jones U in SC (?)

I don't think that campaigning at an anti-minority, anti-gay, anti-Catholic, anti-almost everybody site was a wise move for him. Yes, there are still race issues in this country, but I personally believe that things are FAR better than they were even 30-40 years ago.

It seems to me that Bush, if elected, would do everything in his power to take steps backwards concerning the basic rights of minorities, women, homosexuals, and the underpriviliged.

It's not up to the government to decide who we are morally as individuals. Families are important, but a president cannot expect to 'bring back' family values. Education about and living examples of good family values in homes, schools, and communities are what will really make a difference.
