A Brother Lost To Us.

Alan Davis # 4 Passed away suddenly Today.

Alan and I met 40 + Years ago when He came to PSU as a Freshman and was My Roomate from Lamar, Mo.

When I got our first House as a Local, We were once again roomies.

While I had to brow beat Him to get in the Local, He became the Third President of The Chapter.

He contributed much of His time and Money to Our Chapter.

While He was @4-5 Years Younger than Me, He will be sorely missed by all of The Brothers of LXZ!

He leaves His Wife Connie, AGD, and Brother Mark # 106 plus His Mother who I know very well.

Tom, there is a memorial that can be used. It is in the open ceremonies / open ritual book. Your High Phi should have a copy thereof.

Tom, my condolences to you and the brothers of Lambda-Chi Zeta. I know how hard it is to lose someone you've known for so long.

ZAX,
Jono

Sorry to hear about your loss Tom. As far as a ceremony, there isn't a proscribed 'ceremony.' Mostly it is some suggested readings. I would like to see the fraternity address this. Unfortunately I witnessed Zeta's memorial service a few years ago. I was a beautiful addition to my friend's funeral, and I beleive Lambda Chi should develop such a ceremony.

Brother E.: I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Beta-Omicron almost lost its Founding Father (until he received a new liver 20 months ago), so we're all aware of how precious life can be. May light perpetual shine...

ZAX,
BF

Memorial services

This link will take you to the open rituals manual, memorial section.

May we use it liberally yet require it sparingly

John, thank You very much for the info and Link.

I have had many emails from My initial email about BrotherDavis, phone calls and even a Brother come by the store.

We are still in a state of shock over His Passing and I Really want to thank each of those who posted Your Kind Thoughts.

While it is Hard to think of something like this happening, I guess We should Celebrate that He was a True Member of The Brotherhood of LXA! A True Gentlemen in the Correct Sense.

I often think of the good times He and I had along with all of the Other Brothers who feel the same way.

I had to beat up on Him to join the Local and He was so instrumental in so many ways in I Future of LX Z!

Thank You Each and Everyone of the Posters and Brothers!

Cool

A Celebration of Alan Dasvis, LX Z # 4, was held today and a tremendous turn out was in attendence.

Many were Brothers who I had not seen in Years to come and paid Thier Respects for a Very Special Brother.

While He was active in LXA, He became active any many facets of life working with Kids and showing them how to fish. He was President of the Lake Quivera Fishing Clug and is Now established as the Honorary President for Life and a Special Memorial will be placed in the Lake in His Memorial. The Annual Bass Tournament will be in His Name.

The The Donations sent In Honor of Alan, There will be a Room Dedicated in His Name in the New LX Z Chapter House and furnished for the New Young Brothers.

The accolades for the Quiet Brother Who has done so Much and embodied what LXA Means were long and Heart Rendering.

A True Gentleman to a shortened Life.

Alan, Bless You for Being a Brother of LXA!

I'm glad that many people turned out to his memorial... sorry for your loss.

We had a brother that passed away while I was active. I believe he was only 21. He's from Detroit area and is about 3 hours away from GVSU. There were about 40+ brothers that were there for his memorial (we only have 109 total initiates at the time). I'll never forget that day.

yours in ZAX,

Wayne Hsieh

Loss of a Brother

I've buried Brothers, I even presented a flag to a widow.

But the toughest loss was the loss of an undergraduate at Maryland some years ago. We need not go into the details, perhaps sometime in another venue, but not here.

I have never felt so helpless. The undergrads took it so hard. I wish that I could have wrapped my arms around all of them and lifted that shock and sorrow, but as we know, you can't do that. I stood back from the gravesite, next to a Brother and good friend (and a member of the GHZ at the time) and both of us were stunned at the reaction of the undergrads. It was quite troubling indeed for the both of us.

May you never experience what we felt that bright, warm morning, ina Baltimore suburb.
