Founder's Day

Anyone do anything neat for Founder's Day? About 10 Delta Sigs and some spouses met at Fox Sports Grill in Houston for lunch. 5 different chapters were represented. The Houston Area Alumni Association is slowly coming back to life after about a 2 year hiatus!

The Silicon Valley Alumni Association hosted our first Founders' Day event in the San Jose area. We had 16 brothers and spouses who attended the celebration at the new Smoke Tiki Lounge & BBQ (a brother is the owner).

We had a low-key lunch. I said a little about the Ritual and our founding. As usual, no one really new the details of our founding or why some things are the way they are. The brothers enjoyed it.

I also spoke about my friend Carl Miller and his battle with cancer. Carl's story of maintaining his self-control during difficult times by remembering to "be like the Sphinx" is a testament to the power of the Ritual in our daily lives.

I'm already looking forward to our next Founders' Day!
