Loss of a Brother
I lost my "little" brother on Saturday. Doug Henderson of Sigma Pi Fraternity passed away Saturday morning after a two year battle with Cancer. He was only 27. Doug exemplified every characteristic of a gentleman and a scholar. It was amazing to see all of the people he had touched during his short life, come to pay their respects. His passing brought our brotherhood even closer together and reunited many of us from years past. The last few days have reminded me once again how precious and short life is. I encourage everyone to pick up the phone and call someone that they care about. You never know when you might not get another chance.
Rest in Peace, Doug...

Another Sad Day touches the Greek World. My very best of thoughts go out to the Brothers of Sigma Pi and The Brothers Family!

Sigma Sage I am so sorry. I feel your pain as I lost someone today. I will say a prayer for Doug and his family and you. Cancer sucks in more ways than one

God looked around His garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew that you were in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
and hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "Peace be thine".
It broke our hearts to lose you
but you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
It's a shame how much cancer affects so many people's lives. I'm so sorry for your loss. Today marks 6 months since I lost my mother to cancer. I'm so glad you had your brothers to fall back upon. You, your brother, and all of Doug's family and friends are in my prayers.
