I HATE my Voice!!!

It happened again today, some telemarketer asked if she could speak to my mommy when I answered the phone. I hate my voice! I like to think of myself as at least a semi-hot babe but I have the voice of, I dunno, Minnie Mouse. Or that annoying chick from "Big Daddy" who played Adam Sandler's girlfriend. I want a sultry, Demi Moore-like voice. Or at least I want to sound like a grown up. Whenever I try and speak firmly to my kids, they just laugh at me

Ok, just venting! Thanks!

Could it be a blessing that you can get rid of annoying phone people simply by sayin "My mom's not here"

Start a phone sex line. There are those freaks that like the idea of a young girl. Bet after you make money off that voice you would like it!

I sometimes have the same problem, especially if I talk quickly. I've noticed that it helps if I make an effort to speak slowly and enunciate words sharply. Then I don't sound like such a little kid. I'm still doomed with most answering machines though - sounds like a 6 year old. sigh.

Well, I sound like a mix between Lauren Bacall (sp?) and Kathleen Turner. I swear I'm going to sound like Suzanne Plauchete before it's over. My voice is so distinctive, I could call someone I haven't seen in 20 years and they would know exactly who they are talking to.

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY LETTERS? MY KEY BOARD IS SCREWED UP!

I get the same thing all the time as well. Whats worse is that about 90% of my relatives/family friends that call the house wont know if its me or my little brother picking up the phone. He just turned 14 but hasnt had his voice changed. I think it makes him madder than it does me, especially when my grandmother called one day and thought it was me (not surprising) but when my brother told her it was him she just started laughing and said "wow you sound like a little girl, when is your voice going to change?"....made him so mad!

I have the same problem. However, not only do I sound young on the phone, but I also look young. I cannot get anyone to help me in stores. I assume this is because they think I don't have money to spend, so why waste their time. I know it's age because they will always bypass me for someone older unless I speak up and make them wait on me. I have also had salespeople younger than me tell me that I will grow into something. The only way I'm growing into anything is by putting on weight. I've become so irritated with this that I take my business elsewhere when people do this to me. I figure unless what I want is really spectacular, I'll find it somewhere else. And the worst is the condecending, 'honey'
