First impressions that rub you the wrong way

When I first meet someone I get turned off by:

*Someone staring a hole through me before they approach me.
*Lack of eye contact during convo.
*WIMPY A$$ handshakes!

Red face

Have to second you about the wimpy a$$ handshakes. Our superintendent of schools is a BIG man and I swear he has the most limp handshake of any person I ever met. Kinda made me want to wipe my hand on my skirt and say EEEUUWWWW.

One of my AGD friends referred to these as "Icky Poo Banana Handshakes".

Oh I hate this. There is a woman at work that is like this. She always has this look on her face like, "who the hell are you, and what are you doing here?"

Everytime I see her I want to ask her who pissed in her cheerios?

Adding on to this- at bars, clubs, parties, etc. guys walking past you and putting their hands on your waist as they go by. It's one thing if it's crowded, i'll put my hand on someones shoulder or back in lieu of pushing straight through them, but when there's plenty of room to walk around???

Yes, this hapepned to me several times tonight.

Also, short guys were in predominance tonight. Being a lady of 5 feet 7 inches plus always wearing some sort of heels, that just doesn't do it for me.

That's my short rant fo rthe night!

Oh, I totally get annoyed when guys do that. They rub their grubby little hands from the small of your back, all the way around - under the guise of "pushing by." Please! It's way grosser when they are there with a girl.

I hate people who don't wave when I let them in during heavy traffic on the highway, but I guess it's not really a first impression since it's not likely that I will ever see them again, or know if I do.

Another thing that is a turn off, people who don't know how to accept a compliment graciously. JUST SAY THANK YOU!

Unchecked nose hair. There's this guy in my classes who has this annoying habit of looking down his nose when he talks to people.. which only draws attention to the fact that baby sasquatches are growing out of his nostrils.

When introductions are being made, people are kind of standing in a circle. I've seen women close the circle to exclude another person. That is so RUDE!

Being treated like you are invisible/talking to someone and their eyes are searching all over the place (like Dionysus mentioned-not looking you in the eyes) for someone more "interesting" or beneficial to them than you.
Young people can do this to parents or the more mature generation as well.

One thing that actually happened to me-At a party a I was introduced to a newer "member" (new bride, new shoes, new law practice and a LITTLE bit of new money) and she responded, "....I've never heard of you." Of course I shot back something like-"That's not surprising. We are very discriminating when it comes to socializing." She took it as it was meant-jaw drop and all. Her husband now chases ambulances.

edited-Over the years, I think I've seen women behave more abominably than men. Men seem to realize that you never know when you will need a connection. Women, especially in the 25-34
year range tend to place way too much emphasis on Hubby and don't realize that established/mature women operate in a more quiet way yet wield a lot of power.
