Talking George Washington (colony) Update

Awesome news, sisters. My best friend helped with recruitment at the new GW colony. Here's the latest:

"The colonization at George Washington has been extremely successful.

Over 190 women expressed interest in Alpha Phi, and 150 attended the recruitment parties each night. A HUGE thank you to all the alumnae that helped each night!

We now have 64 Alpha Phi's at GW (campus total is 65). The women are absolutely incredible."

My friend said the women who attended the parties were almost universally intelligent, beautiful and talented--the whole A-Phi package. She said she didn't talk to one "dud" the whole night.

Congrats to the new GW pledge class and kudos to all the alums and A-Phi International representatives who are making this colony a success.

AOE,
Jen

I have a question about colonizing....I am moving to Alaska in May/June and know that Uof Alaska @ Anchorage has one sorority and one fraternity (tri-sigma and SAE). What do you have to do to start a new chapter? I am going to talk to our ELC about this when she returns, but I was just wondering what anyone else can tell me. Thanks.

You would need approval from campus administration to open the campus for expansion. Once/if approval is given, the campus administration must contact the NPC with their request for expansion. The NPC contacts the other 25 NPC member groups, informing them of the campus' desire for expansion. The interested groups will contact the NPC and the campus. The campus would then narrow down the interested groups to a small number and invite them to present their Expansion Program to the campus administration. The administration would then decide on which group gets invited to colonize. If the group that is asked decides to turn down the invitation, the campus can invite another group or delay expansion for a period of time.

If you have an interest group on campus, and that group has a preference, the campus administration should inform the NPC of that preference. That group will be given right of first acceptance. If that group does not wish to colonize at this time, the expansion request can either be withdrawn or extended to the remaining 24 NPC member groups.
