Celebrities who claim that they are now saved.

I was surfing the net and I came across ex-Vanity; now Denise Mathews. She used to be a Prince prodigy. She now says that after much turmoil, drug-use, and sexual escapades that she is now a soldier for the Lord. I'm really happy for her. I found this on www.denisematthews.com.
Do you all know of any celebrities who have turned their lives around and is doing positive things for the community, others, or etc. I like to know. Thanks!!!
P.s. it's always good to see this type of thing happen!!!

I've seen Denise Mathews preach at church. She is a minister now, and tells a very inspiring story.

Another person that has gone through the same transformation is ex-rapper Mase (Mason Betha). He's now a minister as well, with a degree in theology (I belive).

I've been keeping my eyes open in my town to see when or if she'll ever come. I would really love to personally hear her story. I listened to it on the website; I'm very eager to buy her book Blame it on Vanity. She's says that when she became very ill Prince tried to contact her and she asked that he not contact her. He had someone to deliver her a bouquet of flowers and she told the person to take it back. I said "wow". She really means business.

Play from Kid 'n' Play
Woody from Dru Hill

They were on BET Tonight (is that the name of the show?) where the topic was about secular music artists who are now saved. I also heard that Dru Hill was getting back together and that Woody was thinking about joining the reunion.

i guess deion sanders qualifies, although i don't believe he has actually moved into the ministry. however, it's my understanding he's offering spiritual advice to some of his teammates, especially nate newton. sanders and t.d. jakes became close, around the time sanders got saved and had that "suicide" attempt.

Thank you for mentioning Neon Deion. I remember seeing that Beyond the Glory episode. I will say one thing, I think his flamboyance hasn't particularly been curbed -- I'm awaiting the NFL Today in a few minutes.

A bit, although he has toned it down. He's wearing cornflower blue with light tan shoes today.

FOR THE RECORD:

Denise Matthews has spoken at our church TWICE, in 1999, and in 2000. She delivers an awesome, sho 'nuff Word that you have got to be there to witness. I can say with certainty that she posesses a special anoiting and you can feel it radiating throughout the sanctuary. I am sure we have copies of both her tapes & I am thinking about getting both. But yes, Evangelist Matthews is for real and on fire for the Lord.

Michael Irvin

I recently saw a special on Michael Irvin on one of the Christian tv channels. He may not be a good addition to the "The Best Da** Sports Show", but he is a Christian.

He was on a radio program some time ago and eluded to the fact that he was only doing it to fulfill is contractual obligation to the group.

I spoke to Denise Matthews on the Russ Parr morning show waaay before they became syndicated and I was so sad that I couldn't hear her preach at a local church. I was going thru a rough spell and it was wonderful to hear her testimony. She shared some encouraging words with me. I will never forget that. I do hope to see her preach one day.
