Which picture would be grounds for the chapter getting into any trouble? If its the one where the girl is playfully pattling a brother, that photo appears to be at some sort of formal in front of many non-members...most likely not hazing. The only other *slightly questionable photos are the two with the guys that having writing all over them...again, why would that be grounds for the chapter getting into trouble? Maybe I missed something, but honestly, I have seen GLO webpages that were far more graphic and pehaps incriminating (in terms of hazing).

Yuppers, I agree with HPU Pike the pics look fairly innocent.

Not to mention the dates say 1998 and 1999... whether it's hazing or not, none of the brothers who actually would have participated in these activities would still be in the chapter.

i think hoosier is referring to the numerous pictures of pledges being paddled by brothers. most chapters do this sort of thing, but show a little common sense and don't post these types of pics on a web site.

Take a closer look at the context of the pictures...

Not that this is really even worth debating over, but I was drawn to this thread because it is a Pike Chapter that is being discussed. If you look closely at the paddling pictures, you can plainly see that the paddles are decorated and one would assume they are a tradition at that chapter. In addition, they appear to be a some sort of formal event with many other people there (non-members). As I stated in my previous post, the paddling looks playful in nature as if they were posing for the picture. Not to mention the fact that no where near those pictures is a label that says "Brother XYZ paddling Pledge XYZ"...so as far as we can tell, could be two brothers goofing off with a paddle. As someone said, none of this really matters cause those guys are long gone now considering the pics are around 5 years old.

How do you know that they were pledges? How do you know that they were being paddled or if it was just a mock up?

The main point of my post was that you have to a fu@#ing moron to put pictures like these on your website. You obviously don't know how little it takes for a chapter to get in trouble for hazing. Greek advisors don't care what a Pike's interpretation of the picture is, they care about maintaining safety for the students. You and me both know that these pictures were probably harmless(even if paddling was going on)but these pics set a chapter up to incriminate themselves.

I agree with him and Hoosier. An anti-Greek Dean or Greek Advisor could use these pictures against the chapter very easily.

If you look at the pictures were they are playing with the big letter, they took turns doing that to eachother.

Anything can be taken out of context. I do my sorority's website, and just thinking off of the top of my head about pictures on their that might seem bad taken out of context. I have one with three of my sisters soaking wet after playing around in a fountain (but you don't know that part). It is under the section sisterhood week, so people who already spread the rumor about how we throw pledges in the pool and make them swim could think that is what that is.

If you are *looking* for something to seem bad then you can take anything out of context and turn it around. Not to mention as the other people in this thread have said - they were infront of a lot of non-members (girls) it seems. If the president of the university thught something was wrong hazing wise, and there really wasn't - you have a ton of witnesses who are not a PIKE who know the whole context of the picture.

Also, to the guy on the recieving end of this, you are hot. Marry me please (oh if only he was on here). hahahahaa

You know, of ALL the pictures these guys must have for the entire 1998-1999 school year.... for a public website pick something less controversial! Incriminating or not, those pictures could be easily used against them.

Lightbulb

Remember, we are looking at these photos as Greeks, not the Admin. or other outside groups. Yes, they may very well be taken out of context!
