This was an interesting read.. I haven't been active in the NAACP in so long I can't vouch for the process of submitting proposals at conventions..

One would think the NAACP would support life over death, especially when abortion affects our community in such a negative way.

It seems, however, that the symbolic burying of "the n-word," which they held a mock funeral for during their convention, is more important to the group than the actual conception of life. How awful.

Soooooo, no more N-word, but abortions are cool?!?!

This saddens me as much as it confuses me.

ETA: People have the right to choose what they want, but since the NAACP has such a strong stance on everything else I would have thought they would be pro-Life. Who knew? Clearly I didn't.

How could you think the NAACP would take a conservative stance on any issue?


The organization has sided itself with the liberal agenda on most issues for quite awhile now. This is not an indictment of the NAACP just an observation.

I was commenting on the 'burial' or the N-word in contrast to being for abortion. Personally if I would go to the lengths to bury a word then I would be against something like abortion.

If the article had not compared the two I probably would not have thought twice about it.

You are right about the liberal thing though.
