Brothers Only - FYI
Brothers:
Happy New Year!
December 31 was the effective date of my resignation as Executive
Director of
the Alpha Phi Alpha Education Foundation after five years of
service in
various roles at the National Headquarters (National Programs
Director,
Educational Activities Director, Administrative Director and Ed
Foundation
Exec. Dir.).
Effective on January 14, 2002, Brother Rollin F. Jackson of Kansas
City, MO
will assume the position Director of Educational Activities.
Brother Jackson
has worked with the National Programs in the Midwestern Region and
currently
serves as the National Programs Chairman. I believe that Brother
Jackson
will serve Alpha well at Headquarters.
I encourage you to notify the regional, district, area and chapter
leadership
of this administrative change, particularly as Brothers begin to
submit
scholarship applications for the 2002-03 Education Foundation
Scholarships.
We have received several inquiries from Brothers with old
scholarship
applications who thought the application deadline was 1-1-02. The
deadline
for 2002-03 has not been set but will likely be around the June 1st
deadline
that has been used for the last two years. Education Foundation
Chairman
Ralph Johnson plans to announce the 2002-03 scholarship amounts and
to make
the scholarship application available later this month.
Please accept my thanks and appreciation for your support over the
years.
Fraternally
Zollie Stevenson, Jr.
