NHL Roundup: Jagr to Rangers looks imminent

NHL Roundup: Jagr to Rangers looks imminent

Capitals eager to dump $11 million pay

Friday, January 23, 2004

From wire dispatches

The Washington Capitals and New York Rangers have made considerable progress in negotiations that would send Jaromir Jagr to New York, the Washington Post reported, although many details were not finalized.

Jagr has told friends he is convinced a trade will be completed very shortly and, sources said, already has made provisions for how to ship his equipment to New York. League sources indicated, however, that neither club's owner had been presented with a formal trade to sign off on, and they cautioned there was a chance negotiations could fall apart as they have in the past.

Just another superstar looking out for number 1. Higher payroll, less chemistry - won't do anything.

How stupid are the Rangers management...time and again they go out and get a superstar forward, overlooking the most glaring needs of the team - a garbage defencive core (even when healthy) and goaltending inconsistency....i think it's time i applied as a GM.
