The Washington Capitals and New York Rangers have made considerable progress in negotiations that would send Jaromir Jagr to New York, the Washington Post reported, although many details were not finalized.
Jagr has told friends he is convinced a trade will be completed very shortly and, sources said, already has made provisions for how to ship his equipment to New York. League sources indicated, however, that neither club's owner had been presented with a formal trade to sign off on, and they cautioned there was a chance negotiations could fall apart as they have in the past.
