llegaly blonde and Delta Zeta?
Hi. I just went to see the new movie llegaly blonde and I was wondering if any of you guys know if one of your sisters wrote or produced the movie? I am asking because the sorority in the movie is Delta Nu, and if you turn a zeta on its side its an N, also there colors were pink and green. Anyway I was just wondering, Thanks!! =)

SigKapCutie,
Thanks for the info about the movie! I didn't realize the similarity between Delta Zeta and Delta Nu until you mentioned them. However, I'm sorry to say that I have no idea if DZ was the model for Delta Nu. It would be nice to think so, though!

Well, I heard that Delta Nu was based on Delta Gamma (supposedly on the Legally Blonde website, there was a little sentence that said something like "be the best you can be...delta gamma..").
It was also filmed at USC...I remember hearing that it was filmed at the DG house? Am I right?

Reese did her research at the USC DG house--I haven't seen it yet--tomorrow night I am--but she's been widely quoted in the media as saying her character is based on USC sorority girls and there's not a chapter of DZ at USC. If you go to www.legallyblonde.com and do the make a postcard section, there's a quote that says something like "Choosing the wrong sorority can ruin your whole life--choose the best--Delta Gamma." Oh, and the USC DG chapter is Alpha Nu chapter of DG, so it makes sense that its Delta Nu.

I saw this movie and noticed the similarities in colors and letters, but that's it. I really didn't think about it any further. I LOVED the movie though!

Delta Gamma's colours are Pink, Blue and Bronze.
Red and Gold...sounds like Chi Omega to me (red and "straw")

I'd like to think that Delta Nu is based on Delta Zeta because 1)the sorority colors are pink and green and 2) well, a "Z" on its side IS a Nu!. But I couldn't help but notice when they showed Elle Woods' sorority paddle it had a crest that was identical to Delta Gamma's except for having some sort of animal head at the top instead of a rose. I guess that settles THAT! lol
Well, I'm sure Elle would have pledged DZ if they'd had it at her college!

DZ all the way!
I graduted from the same school as Reese, although she graduated MUCH earlier than I did, my sister (biologically) had the advantage of being in her class....not to mention I can see her parent's house (where she grew up) out of my window. The house in the movie is no longer occupied by ANY sorority...however the establishment you see in the movie was a DZ house

Butterfly, as you were talking about DZ in the thread, it was natural for me to assume you were talking about college.
I worked with Reese on one of her previous films, she is a great gal!
See DG forum for more on the Legally Blonde connection. Reese did her research at the Univ of Southern Cal DG and KKG houses.

I would say that Delta Nu is a hybrid of DZ and DG; Delta Nu had DZ's colors and DG's crest:
Just change the rose at the top to a chihuahua's head and you'll have it right! (cuz Elle had a chihuahua named "Bruiser"). I love that MOVIE!!

Hi Ladies,
Some of you may notice that I edited a few of the posts in this thread. Apparently there was some confusion about what school Reese W. attended, and some tempers seem to have flared during that particular discussion. The matter has been cleared up now, so let's proceed with the convo in a civil fashion.
If anyone has questions about why one of their posts was edited/deleted, please feel free to PM me.
Thanks!

Hi there.
One of the screenwriters is an Alpha Gam. Here is an article.
http://www.jmu.edu/montpelier/issues...ain/blonde.htm
I have not read anything about the author of novel or the other screenwriter being in a sorority. But I haven't read anything about them not being in a sorority either.
