Alumnae Association Initiation Gifts
What does your alumnae association give to the new actives upon initiation? My group is looking for cute ideas for the chapter we support. Currently we give badgeboxes to hold their pin that has our GLO initials cross-stitched on top.

Our local alumnae chapter has only been reinstalled for about a year, so we do not do anything. Hopefully this will change in the future!

I've been in several alumnae clubs, not all gave gifts but some that I remember us giving to new initiates from our area:
**picture frame engraved with name, chapter and init date
**pin box (hand painted by members of our alumnae club)
In my current club, we do not have a single local chapter so gifts are sent with information about the alumnae club, mother's club and invitation to holiday open house (we sent gifts to all women from our city initiated into any Pi Phi chapter and all mothers of Pi Phis are invited to join the mom's group). My previous club that had a chapter locally gave gifts to all new initiates.

I've been a member of 2 associations and we never did gifts.
One group I belonged to hosted a brunch for the new members where we reviewed sorority history and played games to help them prepare for their initiation exam.

once, we painted little flower pots blue and put white stars and moons; then wrote "one moon, many stars" on the edge. inside, we put a pink carnation, floral foam and that spanish moss stuff. it was simple, cute and easy.

We often throw a party after people transfer in, which gives them a chance to get to know everyone else. Also, a lot of times they get our most recent shirt.
People who are newly initiated into the grad chapter are showered with gifts.

When I was an active, our Alumnae Association gave us each a round frame, with a diamond superimposed onto a canvas background, then bought our New Member pins for us (we normally have to turn them in).
We don't do that any more, but I still have mine!

Gifts for graduating seniors
Our local alumnae chapter recognizes new initiates in their newsletter and always sends a kind congratulatory note to the chapter just after Initiation.
The alumnae chapter does present the graduating seniors with gifts when we install them as alumnae.

Our Alumnae chapter hosts a senior service/ritual for the 3 Theta chapters in our city. We also give a small gift at that service and offer free membership for the first year.
Also, the Alumnae Panhellenic assoc offers free membership to recent graduates.
